Nsync's remake of "That's The Way Love Goes"

By Todd Scheiperpeter.

MTV launched their "Icon" program by paying tribute to the one and only Janet Jackson. Nsync took part in the festivities by paying homage with personal testimonials and a video tribute which consisted of a remake of Janet's hit video for "That's The Way Love Goes." Justin and Chris were the only two members of Nsync who attended the taping of the show. They talked about how Janet influenced them and Justin made several "and she's FINE" remarks, which were very funny. Then they introduced the video.

Nsync did a great job vocally capturing the R&B vibe that Janet had so deeply laden the original version of the song with. The song was originally very mellow and meant to be heartfelt, and Nsync continued that feeling with their remake. The video itself was very laid back, just like the original. Just the guys lounging around what appears to be a coffee shop of some sort. One interesting thing to note was how pictures on the wall, that in Janet's video were of no particular subject, were replaced by dozens of pictures of Janet herself. The group did an awesome job on the remake of this song and video.
