"Cold Winds"
For many years this fact remained
my children and I were estranged
Cold winds whisked them away
traces washed away with the rain
further and further each day
only fond memories would remain
On gentle breeze`s I would call
will I ever see them again
but cold winds continued to howl
for years it seemed all in vain
Then one day my phone did ring
as I was outside that day
a message was left on my machine
and tears of joy it did bring
His thoughts of wanting to reconnect
were embraced with a granted visa
and some gentle urging I expect
from his lovely wife Lisa
Had the cold winds begun to thaw
had the harshness begun to eaze
I felt the warmness near me draw
a breath of the calming gentle breeze
A new day dawns and brings the light
and upon my life does tender
warm feelings of great delight
the gentle breeze in all its splendor
