Chronicals of Belial
The City of Belial and the Tales of the Lore Master are two sagas that run parallel with one another, and so they will be described as a single story, filled with Adventure. Don't read this page if you want your GM to run it. It's a complete spoiler.
Inside the adventure are several religious themes, taken from tales of the Bible and Messianism. This is NOT an attempt at blashphemy, biggotry, or meant as an offensive work! Far from it! It is simply an entertaining tale of myth, legend, and history. Why religion, some ask? Number one, it is a subject I'm very interested in. I have studied my share of religious works in my time. Even though I cannot atest to my faith in any givin sect, I think most are fascinating. Also, religion is a powerful force in history. It was the cause of much political intruige, the rise of heroism and the source of cruelty. The Crusades come to mind...
The adventure itself takes place in the area around Belial. It seems "between" in several different ways. It lies percariously close to the Xiticix lands, Iron heart, and the Norther Gun. The city itself has a Champion Defender, but also retains a police force and milita. It is a highly technological city, but magic users are welcome, and the wilderness creeps unusually close to the city limits. Defence Instalations are set up stratigically for both air and land strikes. The Defender and Leader of the city is Mr.D. For more detailed information and schematics, look here.
The ideal time for this campaign is very shortly before Quebec breaks free from Coalition, when the test "Skeleton Raiders" are testing new Coalition armor. From there, you should be able to figure out timelines for other events described in the various books Palladium has out. If you don't have any of the other books, forget that whole bit.
Now the stage is set, it's time for the actors. There are quite a few NPC's of fair importance. They include Belail's guardian- an Angel named Daniel, Lucas the Loremaster, Holy Warrior Greppe- just to name a few. They are the first of many that the characters will meet, and they have a great impact in the storyline. The villians will be fewer, but more powerful. Belail, a venerable Demon the City is named after, and Xaoz are names you should get to know.
The first part of the adventure begins as the party encounters Greppe Justavius- seemingly a normal human by all standards. Of course, he is anything but! As the story starts, he is delivering a very sought-after item to his employeer, Lucas the Loremaster. Greppe is a tall fellow, about six foot one, and well built. He has long flowing black hair and a trimmed beard around a rough edged face. Commonly, he rides a motorcycle and uses either his converted SMG's or a double-barreled shotgun.
Creed is one of the key villians of the story, should he discover the truth about Belial. Creed is an ancient Necromancer Lich from beyond the grave. His skeletal body has been twisted by his own magic, giving him an appropiate appearnce for one of his power.
