My 1996 Crown Victoria P71

I bought this car on April 12, 2001, and I have made it look great! There are no stains in the carpet or seats, and the paint has been buffed out, with many of the imperfections and all of the decal setting crap. It used to be a K-9 car in Marquette County, Wisconsin, so I have had a potty trained animal in the back, versus many "un-trained" animals. I hope you enjoy the pics, and let me know what you think.

1-3-02----Hello everybody. I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's! School really takes up a lot of my time, and it's hard to update this site because it also takes some time. Since October, I've done quite a bit of stuff to my car. First, I drained, flushed, and refilled the tranny with some Mercon V fluid. That was really fun (not), and tranny fluid is hard to get out of hair. Then, I got new tires from the Tirerack.com. They are 235/70/15 Firestone Firehawk PV41's. I think they look really cool, and they are really good in the snow. Plus, I like having the 149mph speed rating. Another thing I did was hook up a Hypertech Power Programmer, and I tuned the transmission to shift firmer. This was really easy, and since I got it free from my cousin, it makes me extra happy! I got my strobe lights into the four corners of the car, and I also put them in the back up lights. I really like the way they look, and I have pictures of them BELOW. I got the 6CD player that I bought off of EBay, but it didn't fit, so I resold it, then bought a single CD player. I really like having a CD, and it sounds really nice compared to my old-school car-kit. Another thing I did recently was buy a brand new bumper cover for my car, since as you have probably read in an earlier post, the old was got backed into. I will get this repainted in the Spring. The last thing I can think of that I have done for my car is I made a custom switchplate for my strobes and horn. I crafted a piece of .060 gauge alluminum for where the ash tray goes. I took the ash tray out, and glued this piece of metal in. It looks really nice, and I'll try to get a hold of my aunt's digital camera soon so I can show everyone. OH! I almost forgot to mention the 9mm Ford Motorsport Spark Plug Wires that I got for Christmas! I put those in, and they really dress up the engine. I can feel a difference in throttle response, but that's only due to my old wires arching. That's it for now, but I'll tell you guys my future plans. 1. Repaint damaged areas plus new bumper cover (Spring 2002). 2. Cut off the mufflers for extra sound and horsepower (Spring 2002). 3. Add the Steeda Underdrive pullies I got for Christmas (ASAP). 4. Buy and install a keyless entry/remote starter system (within the next two weeks). I hope to be back soon to let everyone know how the Vic is doing. Thanks for reading!

10-10-01----WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN?!! School, that where. Since I have updated, I have done a lot to the Vic. I took it into Ford to have the steering wheel fixed. COST ME $450!!! OUCH! It was worth getting fixed though. It just needed new bearings and an intermediate shaft. I bought and installed Bilsteins on the front, and the rears are on the way. Feels great so far. Another thing I did was buy some Hide-away strobes for it. They are all clear, and I don't know exactly where I should place them. In the front, I was thinking of putting them in the corners, and in the rear, maybe the backups? About a week ago, I bought the new Ford indash 6 cd player for only $220 on EBay!!!! I can't wait until I get it into the Vic. Still waiting for it in the mail, but I will post a picture once I get it in.......same with the strobes. The mileage is at 120,906, so it's just about time for another oil change. Additionaly, before the snow flies, I HAVE to get some new tires. I am thinking strongly about the BF Comp T/As, since their ratings are good. If you have another suggestion, feel free the email me. Also, I have only received ONE picture of a reader's car, so make sure that if you want them posted, send the pics to my email soon. That's it for now.

8-24-01----I have been using my Aunt's camera again, and I got some high-quality pictures of the Vic. Compare the Vic up to what it used to be like back in April. You can see that I have changed the steering wheel, head unit, antenna, window tint, and hub caps. So far, I think my Vic just keeps getting better and better!! I ended up getting the windows tinted at Z-Bart. They didn't do a very nice job, so I am planning on taking it back soon. I got dark in the back and lighter up front. It looks awesome except for the some small bubble here and there. I haven't installed my CB yet, because I don't have an antenna for it yet. I changed the oil at 118,000, and it's going to hit 119,000 soon. I've decided against the muffler delete, and now I want Flowmasters. I would like a throaty sound at idle, almost like the Mustang GT. The steering wheel is working great, but it still squeeks like the old one did. I push up on the steering wheel, and the squeek goes away, but comes back in about 30 seconds. Oh well, I can deal. Every thing else is just great!

7-28-01----I have installed the correct style of steering wheel for my car now. I like it so much better than the old one. I also have trunk carpeting now. Another thing I have done is replaced a missing clip from the power windows/locks panel on the driver's side.........no more of that popping out when I shut the door. My cousin gave me the cassette/radio out of his '00 Ford F-250, so I took mine out, got a harness, and installed the new one. Now I can listen to my CD's with the car kit, which is nice. I took off the "do-it-yourself" tint from the rear window.......Why didn't Marquette County do it right the first time? That was A LOT of work to take off, and I think I was high the entire time due to the denatured alcohol I used to remove the adhesive the tint left behind. Now I'm all set to get it tinted for real. Another thing I did was move my Wig-Wag switch to my glove compartment. When I got pulled over a few weaks ago, I'm so glad that the cop didn't come up to my window and just asked me to get out, cuz he would have seen it for sure. Now I mounted it right into my compartment for easy concealment. I'll post some pictures sometime of exactly where I put it. I'm thinking about doing the "muffler delete" option. But if it pops at WOT, then I'll have to buy some Flowmasters or something. I'll post more on that later. My buddy just bought himself a 1996 Caprice with the LT1, and he still couldn't pull away from the good old P71.....that was awesome. I think the LT1 has a little more at the top-end than the CV, cuz if we would've kept going, then he might have gotten ahead. Recently I swiss-cheesed my airbox with my cousin's drill-press. I love the sound now. I also cut off the silencer. I bought a Cobra CB from EBay, and now I just need an antenna. I'm going to make it a permanent mount, and put it on the driver's side, right next to the trunk lid. There is a hole there that I'd like to fill. Now I just need suggestions on what to use for an antenna and a mount, 'cuz I am clueless to that. Other than an oil-change, and a tranny fluid change coming up, that's all I have for now.

7-12-01----I added the new pictures of my center caps and rings today! I used my aunt's camera, so the quality is much better than that of my digital video camera. I'm thinking about ordering the Jerry Chip soon. First I have to get the windows tinted. That's it for now.

6-26-01----So far, I have replaced all four brake rotors, the rear pads (there was nothing left of the old ones at all), I bought new Motorcraft shocks but haven't gotten around to putting them on yet (plus I've heard that they are a real PITA), and some new Firestone SH 30 are on the way. Also, I have put on beauty rings and Ranger center caps, so I will be posting some updated pictures soon. I installed an air horn and wig-wags (just to mess with my buddies). My list of things to do is: K&N air filter, get 35% tint on the windows, replace and repaint the front and rear bumpers (my sis hit my front end when the car was PARKED!), and I might put strobes in the taillights just for fun. I am getting carpeting for the trunk, a new center dash piece because mine is faded, and the correct style steering wheel for a 96 from High Pursuit ASAP. That's it for now, and updated pics will be posted during the next two weeks. If you want me to post pics of your car too, then just e-mail me some pics and a description. I will gladly add it to my site.

This is a picture of my new Whelen Strobes with the Wig-Wags going too.

Tried to catch one at a time, but shutter was too slow.

Here I have the backups and tail lights alternating.

In this picture, both tail lights are alternating with both backups.....FRIGGIN' BRIGHT!!
