All Cub Scouts must obtain their Bobcat Rank before moving on to their Wolf, Bear or Webelos Rank.
When a boy becomes a Cub Scout, his parents help him to learn his Bobcat requirements, knowing the Cub Scout Promise, Law of the Pack, Cub Scout Handshake, Salute, Sign and Motto, and being able to explain what each one means. All of these are in your Handbooks.
Most new Cub Scouts complete this rank the first month they are a Scout and receive their Bobcat Badge at their first Pack Meeting!
