Forever Annoyed #3

I came into my favorite (and only) chatroom last night in the middle of a heated debate. It involved the Brawl For It All (BFA) tournament and the legitimacy of it. Listening to the varied opinions made me come to the conclusion that it is a total shoot, with one reservation. The two wrestlers go in there and beat each other's brains out with no idea which one of them is going to get their hand raised. But someone knows. Who is it, you ask? It is the WWF officials, most importantly Jim Ross. The only thing that Ross can't control is a knockout. When Bart Gunn knocked out Steve Williams in the literal sense, he, in a very real way, figuratively ruined good ol' JR's plans for the tournament. Since that time, there have been some VERY suspect decisions in the tournament. Droz lost this Monday as did Mero the Monday before. Both were controversial, especially the Mero one. My conclusion is that it is a total shoot between the competitors, with Ross making the decision on whom he wants to advance. Very curious. Of course, I could be wrong.
:) Probably more so than 99% of the Internet wresting population, I have been very curious when it comes to Ric Flair and his battle with WCW. I just do not want to see him back in WCW playing by Hogan's rules. Especially with him having to take a backseat to Hogan, Nash, Hart, Hall, Page, Luger, Sting, Giant, and now Warrior. It boggles my mind why he would think about that at this point in his career. Money is not everything, and I'm sure he would do very well, financially speaking, in the WWF. I talked about this in my last column, I know, but I want him in WWF badly.

I saw the report on New Jack and his hearing involving the kid whom was hurt by him in the ring. In case you haven't heard of this incident let me bring you up to speed on it. It is called "The Mass Transit Incident" and basically goes like this: An underage kid, 17 I believe, convinces the ECW people backstage that not only is he an adult but also a wrestler. They let him (all 300 some pounds of him) go to the ring for a tag match. New Jack, as is his trademark, brings a garbage can of assorted "paraphernalia" to the ring. The match begins and all 4 are in the ring. The kid tries to sell a few punches (that's better than half the current wrestlers) but eventually succumbs to the assault by New Jack and falls down. New Jack then grabs a razor and cuts the kid WIDE open. The kid is screaming to stop the match but no one pay attention. New Jack then ascends the turnbuckles and lands with a chair on the kids already bleeding face. No need to sell that maneuver, it was a square hit. There is then a closeup where you see the blood squirting, yes squirting, from the kid's forehead.

New Jack was at a hearing for this. Luckily, the kid doesn't want to sue. He wants New Jack to spend a little time in jail, is all. What a bunch of horseshit.

I heard about the incident and promptly ordered the tape from a friend. I watched it and was shocked by the gruesome nature of it. To be perfectly honest though, I thought it was really cool looking and I laughed. My problem is with the kid going to court over it. Let's examine two critical facts:

1. He lied to the people in the back and so was allowed to compete.
2. His parents were there and ENCOURAGED him to do it.

He reminds me of those people who smoke for 30 years, develop cancer, and then decide to sue the tobacco company for millions. Whatever happened to the days when people could settle their differences and then shake hands afterwards? Nowadays we call the cops. Oh well, wishful thinking on my part.

Let me know what you think about the "Mass Transit Incident". I'm totally open to all types of opinions. HellHound
