The percent and generation of the animal is basically the lineage. The percent of a wolf hybrid is figured out by adding the amount of wolf in both parents of the present animal, and dividing by 2. Generation is how far away the present animal is from the pure wolf in the lineage. An example: If you have a 75% 3rd generation, and a 100% wolf, you'd have 87.5% 1st generation. When an animal has mostly all wolf in their genes (precent and generation), they will act more like a wolf, and less like a dog. Usually they prefer to be outside, than in a house. Sometimes it could be considered dangerous to let them run around in the house alone, incase they try to jump out a window. Wolf hybrids with lower generations tend to want to be more in the house, than outside day and night, although having an animal kennel trained is a good idea. If a person is interested in getting a wolf hybrid as a LIFELONG companion, they should start out with a lower content animal, after they have educated themselves as much as possible. Usually wolf hybrids (high and medium percent and generation) take up most of a persons time, because of their strong pack values. Many people do not have the time for socializing, feeding, and play. A wolf hybrid are not for these people. Buying a wolf hybrid, is like any other dog. Sellers should have information & even contracts on their animals. If a seller cannot answer every question a buyer may have, they are not who you want to buy from. Both parents of the animal should be present on the premises, no acceptions. If one of them are not there, these are not the right sellers to buy from.
