Mr. Oscar's Bio
Mr. Oscar was brought into my home back in 1999. He started off as a cute little fishy who hid in a log to avoid
the rather large goldfish I had at the time. Within a few months he had grown a bit and insisted on being called
"Mr. Oscar." The goldfish were moved out of my tank and into an outdoor pond where they frolicked and spawned
several hundred babies (another story).
Mr. Oscar allowed Janitor Bob (pleco) and his sidekick (a much smaller gourmi) to live with him, and despite his
rugged exterior he is a strict vegetarian. He eats pellets and will even allow you to pet him while you feed him by hand.
When a rock fish was introduced to the tank Mr. Oscar tried to mate with it, which resulted in the rock fish dying
from fright.
Today Mr. Oscar is almost 10 inches long and would make a good meal. Not that I would ever eat him as he no
doubt would put up a stink.
