OLE'S PAGE OF THUNDER:
THE TURBO COUPE
My Turbo Coupe has the stock, turbocharged 2.3L 4 cylinder engine.
It's horsepower is around 190@4600 RPM, with a top speed of 148 mph.
Current modifications include a Ric Gillis boost control valve (18 psi), rear spoiler, headlight blackouts, and a K&N Air Filter.
Future plans are new paint, sun roof, dual exhaust, 140 mph speedometer, and a complete engine/suspension restoration and upgrade.
PRIOR TO FALL 2000
The early days
This is basically what my turbo coupe looked like when it fell into my hands in 1996. All stock except for a couple of minor cosmetic modifications, just very well kept and cared for.
FALL 2000 THROUGH SPRING 2001
This was the result of a deer vs. my turbo coupe, and you can see who won. Needless to say, much time and
too much money was needed to repair it.
SPRING 2001 THROUGH MARCH 2002
The turbo coupe was lookin' and runnin' very good during this time after being fully repaired
from its encounter with the deer (see above).
MARCH 2002 to PRESENT
Well, after another unfortunate accident, this time a pretty serious rollover on the interstate, the turbo coupe is a little busted up again. Luckily there was lots of snow to absorb some impact, but the passenger side and roof took most of the beating. It was a heck of a ride, but I was able to come out of it with only a sore neck and a headache.
I am already gathering ideas and collecting some of the needed parts.....
Who knows what's in store for the relentless Turbo Coupe next!
There are two more OLE'S PAGES with links to them in the favorite links section.
