September 26, 2001:Bassett Creek Park (Golden Valley/Crystal)

Join Larry Martin for a hike around the Bassett Creek Park in Crystal.

If driving: From I-394, west of downtown Minneapolis, go west to Highway100 and then north on Highway 100 to Duluth Street. Exit on Duluth Street and turn west (left) at the bottom of the off ramp and continue on Duluth Street to Douglas Drive. Turn north (right) onto Douglas Drive and proceed north on Douglas Drive about 1/3 mile to 32nd Avenue North. Turn west (left) onto 32nd Avenue North and proceed to the first parking lot for the Bassett Creek Park, between Brunswick Avenue North and Adair Avenue North, on the south side of 32nd Avenue North. Meet at the southeast corner of the parking lot.

If coming by public transit: Take Metro Transit route(s): 19; 719; 758. The closest bus service point appears to be the corner of Douglas Drive and 32nd Avenue North. Applicable Metro Transit Map / Bus Schedule information

The group will reconvene at the restaurant at Byerly's (5725 Duluth Avenue) after the hike for dinner or dessert.
