RESEARCH PROJECTS

"A NEURAL NET APPROACH TO CALCULATION OF CRITICAL FAULT CLEARING TIME OF POWER SYSTEMS", M.E. Project (C Compiler on UNIX Platform). Neural network is an approach of artificial intelligence to behavioural modeling. In this project a feedforward net was simulated with two layered and three layered topologies. The network learned the CCT mapping after 2556 iterat ions and the error function reduced to 0.0001%.

"A FUNCTIONAL LINK APPROACH TO NEUROCOMPUTING OF CRITICAL FAULT CLEARING TIME", M.E Dissertation (TurboC on DOS). Functional links were established betablished between the layers of two layered neural network to study the improvement of learning performance. The net settled to a satisfactory performance after only one third number of iterations as those required by simple feedforward nets of similar topologies.

"MICROPROCESSOR BASED MEASUREMENT OF POWER FACTOR", B.E Project (8085 Assembly Language). The power factor is a measure of phase difference between current and voltage waves of power transmission. This PF measuring unit calculated the time lag between transmission voltage and current waves with 555 timer which was triggered on by the zero crossing of a digitized version of the former wave and was subsequently put off by the zero crossing of the latter. The corresponding Power Factor was computed by the 8085 CPU.

"MICROCONTROLLER BASED SEQUENCING OF CYBER III ROBO ARM". Motorola's MC68HC11A was used to generate energizing pulses for Cyber III robo arm stepper motors and keep track of the arm trajectory.

"QUANTUM IN HOUSE COMPUTING PACKET". ACCESS Basic along with MS Access 1.1 RDBMS was used for this package. The package supports the various accounting aspects of Loan and Purchase schemes of a Financial Institution
