The Beanie Babies Story! Continued

Gracie's Veiw Point

What Flash said worried me. The planet seemed to get bigger and bigger, as we got closer to the ground. I glanced at Radar, waiting for him to say or do something. But he just stood there, looking out the window. "Radar! This thing is going to crash!" I shouted. He slowly turned to me. "No it won't. If it were going to crash I would be driving it right now," he said calmly, glancing at his watch, sighing, and turning away again.

The ground was very close now. But the spaceship seemed to know what it was doing. Gobbles and I watched the ground as the spaceship landed softly on the ground. Oh, by the way, my name is Gracie, if you haven't figured that out already. The spaceship stopped after it had landed. Teenie Patti looked out the lowest window, pressing her webbed feet on the glass. "Wow! It's beautiful!" she said, and started tugging on Radar's wing. Radar flew across the room and opened the hatchway. Jake ran outside first. Stinger, Gobbles and me were second. I had seen pictures of places on planet Anitra. They show beautiful waterfalls, tropical rainforests, exotic creatures (such as Griffins) and streams and brooks everywhere. It's the perfect planet! I looked around. I could hear the trickling stream, just infront of me. I looked up and saw the tall trees, and a few birds that lived in the Canopy. I could feel the humidity. There were many ferns, and in the distance, I could see a little bit of a rainforest. Then I looked back at the trees again. There was one tree that had a huge (and I mean HUGE) nest on it. It was bigger than the nest of an eagle. It looked like there was a hawk nesting in it. A very large hawk. I could see the little heads of hawk chicks popping up and down. "Hey, that bird is too large to be a hawk," Gobbles said. "Yeah, and look at the nest," Tank added. I started flying, cautiously to the tree. At first the creature looked like any ordinary bird. But then I saw the tail. The tail of a lion. And the hind legs of a tiger. The babies seemed to be hungry, and the creature stood up, and saw me. I tried to dart out of sight, but the bird had already flown away from the nest. It was coming after me! "Help!" I cried. Jake started flapping after the bird, but then it dawned on me; this wasn't a bird. This was a gryphon.

I flew faster, and the gryphon clawed at my tail. It pulled one of my feathers out. I swerved around a tree, hoping that it would confuse the gryphon, but it didn't. I flew as fast as my wings could carry me, but he was right behind me.

Then Jake pulled on his tail. "EEEEEEEERRRK!" the gryphon squawked. Then he turned around and started chasing Jake. "Oh no," I thought. Then I saw Radar, holding a tranquilizing gun. TBB Patti backed away. Radar fired the gun, and in an instant, the gryphon stopped chasing Jake, and dropped to the ground. I was very releaved.

"How long will he stay asleep?" asked Scorch. "I can set this to keep him asleep for however long I want," Radar held up a remote control.

"Good," Jake said. "So why does everyone call this The Perfect Planet?" he added thoughtfully. "Because, I don't think Anitra would be perfect if right when you first arrive, an evil creature chases you around in circles and tries to pull your feathers out" he added more thoughtfully.

Batty sighed. "No place is perfect. You know that, Jake. Besides, you guys have only begun to see the wonders of Anitra."

"And I don't care to see any more" Jabber muttured, who was perched on a tree; his tallons were furrowing the branch. "But really, this huge tropical planet is more than an evil gryphon trying to attack us. There is a stream over there,- see?" Batty continued. "Yeah. So what?" Gobbles said.

"Well if we follow the stream, we will soon end up in a part of Anitra that has many waterfalls, exotic food, and a friendly gryphon empire. They are all very advanced, like Radar, who is far more advanced than humans" Batty replied. Finnally Radar spoke up. "I've been to Anitra four times, and the gryphons know me, and respect me. One of the gryphons that I remember well was called Vixen. She was a tiger sized black warrior. She was very beautiful looking, too."

"But I'm afraid of gryphons!" complained TBB Patti.

"Dont worry, Patti. Radar says that the gryphons at the end of the stream are nicer than this one. And you know Radar doesn't lie" I said. "And I think we should start following that stream before we meet any more of these evil gryphons."

So we started down the path that was beside the stream. I saw a few crawfish, who were trying to remain hidden under rocks and bits of wood in the water. Stinger seemed nervous, and his tail kept twitching. Flash was starting to complain about being out of water, and wanting to swim in the stream, even though it was narrow and much too shallow for a dolphin. Jabber flew on ahead, and screeched and shreiked whenever he heard the slightest russle of leaves. it's gonna be a looooonnnnnnnggg walk I thought.

After about an hour we stopped to rest somewhere in the forest. Tank had short feet, and we had stopped a few times to let him catch up. I thought about home and I wondered if Beak missed me. I looked at Jake, who was splashing around in the water. I looked at Jabber, who was resting peacefully on a hammock made from a very large leaf. there were some tropical fruits here and there, and after we had lunch, we continued walking along...

Scorch's Veiw Point

It was morning now, and I was getting a tad restless because I had just heard about the twenty something new releases. I longed to meat Millenium, Scat, Butch, Goatee, Nibbly, Kicks, and Eggbert. And the other new ones too, ofcourse. But I knew I would just have to wait.

By now, we were less than a mile away from the huge city. We wandered further, and by now I could here faint voices on the other side of the rainforest. As we can nearer still, Jabber became hesitant and did not want to go farther. But Flash urged him along, and Jabber finally gave in. And then, We reached the big city! It was a most amazing site! There were Griffins and dog-sized rodents everywhere. Some were playing very interesting games that I had not known existed, other Griffins were zooming through the air a few feet from the ground like rockets! And the buildings- They were huge! They might as well have been several Empire State Buildings! I could even see through some of the windows. Some Griffins appeared to be watching some sort of a three dimensional holagram like a T.V. and others were playing with strange looking objects and machines I can't begin to describe. There were conveyer belts running through the entire city that replaced highways. Infact, there were no highways! There were many fountains; not the kind you drink from, but the kind that people through pennies into, and the fountains and tropical plants made the city ever so beautiful.

"Wow!" Tank murmered. "This is like the world of the future." Suddenly a large Griffin approached us. He had rainbow colored wings, a pink beak, a grenish body and black feathers. It bent down on all fours so it could get a better look at us. Batty shivered. "Hello. My name is Swift. Do you have permission to be here?" None of us knew what to say. One by one we turned to Radar. He quickly responded.

"Hello Swifty! Remember me? I'm the famous Beanie Baby who introduced you to the transmogrofier! Need I say more." The Griffin had a look of suprise. "Oh. Well then, you may come in. I'm sure everyone will be happy to see you again." and Swift stepped aside as we entered the most beautiful city I could ever hope to visit... To Be Continued (YAY! I finally updated my story!)
