UPDATE! My crab Red died yesterday because of old age.I just got 3 new crabs now, 2 male fiddler crabs and 1 red-clawed crab, which I think is a female. I also got 3 new goldfish to put in the crab tank. I haven't thought of names yet.

My latest addition to my crabs is my new freshwater crab Juana. It is a much, much bigger crab then my little fiddler crabs. It is called a Demanietta Khirikan Crab from the Potamidae family. It originated from Southern Thailand. It eats about 1 fish per day and has to stay warm. These crabs are very beautiful and elegant. Watch out though.. These crabs are very hard pinchers.. I would know!
I have 2 Fiddler crabs. The male is named Red, because I let my autistic brother name him, and the female I named Legs because she is soo fast.
If you don't think Crabs are a good pet, you are wrong! They are great pets. Whenever I am watching tv or something I always let them climb on me and sometimes they sit on my head.(shutup..I know I'm weird..) But you must keep a good eye on them, or you could lose them!
The male has one big claw and one little claw. The male will wave his big claw around either to mark territory, to challenge another male Fiddler, or to invite a female. The female has 2 small claws of equal size. Both the male and female use their small claws to dig for food. My 2 crabs live in freshwater, but soon I will put them in both salt and freshwater, or also known as brackish water. I have little rocks in my tank so they can climb above the water and breath. (Yep, that's right.. Fiddler crabs have lungs for breathing too!)My newest crab, who I call Crabby, spends more time on the rocks and out of the water than in the water. My main concern is them getting out of the tank. The fist crab I got was a male, and he climbed out of the tank. The next thing I knew is he was on my floor walking around. I was kinda shocked at first. He died though later because of old age, he was kinda old when I got him. The next crab I got was also another male, but he got out of my tank somehow and I've never found him since. By now he's probably dead. I've had the female for longer than the males, and just recently I bought another male. The male I got has a funny white like spot on the top of his shell. He's really fun to hold. The female isn't though, she is so fast!! I like to sometimes take them outside and let them walk around on the grass or on the cement. It's funny cause when I let them out they think they are going to leave me and run to freedom. Sometimes when holding the crabs, they will use their smaller claw and try to eat the dead skin off your hand. Don't worry though, it doesn't hurt. They eat bacteria and fungus and stuff like that. They are concidered bottom feeders, just like suckers. I plan on getting more crabs in the future and getting a huge tank for them to live in.
This is a great picture of a male fiddler crab. Thanks to Shirlie Sharpe for the picture.

I have 2 big goldfish and 4 smaller ones all in my aquarium. The 2 big ones I have are named Bubbles and flownder, Flownder is the biggest of the 2. Both of them have very long fins, especially Bubbles. They are amazing being over 5 years old. I got the 2 of them at Wal-Mart when I lived in Wisconsin. I had them about 2 years then we had to move to here in Minnesota so I decided to give them away to one of my friends there in WI. Another 2 years went by before I decided to go back and visit WI, at that point, my friend was getting bored with the fish, so her dad put rust in the water to try and kill them, but they didn't die, they are quite strong and just keep on living. She asked me if I would take them back so I did. I put them in our van and I brought them home. I've had them over a year now here in Minnesota. And they are so big! For goldfish anyway. The other 4 I don't have names for, only 1 is pure orange, and the other 3 are white and orange. I like them. But not as much as my big ones. I also have a sucker, but it's one of those little mini ones. Not the big honking ones.
Next I have 1 very beautiful betta. He's one of the newer additions to my aquariums. Red and blue is his coloring. They are pretty mean, when something comes close to him, his gills flare out. No wonder you have to separate them from other fish. I put him in a little 2 gallon tank. One thing I've noticed though is he is very picky with his food. If it drops down into the rocks he just forgets about it. I haven't decided a name yet. Email me if you think of any. I plan to get a lot more animals in the future. Next I am hoping to get Red-Clawed Crabs, and maybe an Iguana.
Thank you all for stopping by my aquarium!
