Monstervision

Hi, how ya doin?

Welcome to the Mostervision FAQ page.

FAQ (frequently asked question): What's the difference between Monstervision on TNT and Mystery Science Theater 3000 on the Sci-Fi channel? On MST3K, Mike & the bots talk and joke during the bad movie. On Monstervision, host Joe Bob Briggs (real name changed to protect the innocent) gives trivia notes and does any jokes in host segments only at commercial breaks. Past movies have included Star Trek 1 & 2, all 3 Poltergeist movies (in a row, the same night), Back to the Future, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, The Dead Zone, Christine, and even a couple of films they also made fun of on MST3K...

Following the Monstervision movie or movies is a film that TNT considers "100% Wierd" which is not hosted by Joe Bob. Time listed is approximate as Joe Bob says Monstervision is broadcast live. Sometimes it has something to do with the evening's selection (2 Godzilla movies were followed by "All Monsters Attack") and sometimes not. Sometimes "100% Wierd" is just a short film about Bigfoot...
Following 100% Wierd at around 5am is usually an episode of the classic (black & white) Outer Limits, which is about 50% wierd. Or Gilligan's Island, which is just plain silly. Note: If there is no Outer Limits episode scheduled Saturday night / Sunday morning, it may be later in the week at 5am.

At this time there is no host, so the only difference between Monstervision and "100% Wierd" is the video logo at the beginning of the 1st movie

As some of you might have heard by now, Joe Bob is hitching up the trailer and moving on to greener pastures. After nearly five years, we at TNT wish him a fond farewell. Our latenight airwaves will not be the same without him. Joe Bob's new official site can be found at www.joebob-briggs.com. Good luck, JB. May your coozie always be full and may all your movies be drive-in worthy! His final TNT broadcast was July 8th, 2000
