A letter to my Grandchild

They say this is the best time of your life, but you question it. How hard it must be to be young in this world. You are told to act like an adult but you are treated like a child. You are told to be a "good" person but you watch the news and see what the real "adults" are doing! How confusing, how hard. Your friends say come on its ok but you think no it's not ok. We speak on the phone and you say Grandma I'm so confused, I don't know what to do. Oh my dear child I wish I had the answers for you.

The day you were born, I thanked God for the wonderful gift he gave our family with this precious child. You are so special and so loved.

You are our Gift from God, what you do in your life is your gift to God.

Your Great grandma always told me "God never gives you more than you can handle". That sounds silly does God expect children to handle everything they see? If I had the answers I would tell you.

I only can tell you something's I know. There are 2 things you have to do for yourself, trust God and find out about living for yourself. God has a plan for you but he expects you to do your share of the work.

Choose your friends, boy and girl, if they say or do things that hurt you they are not who you want as a friend. Never judge someone by their looks or the color of their skin, you could be missing a wonderful person or friend. Prejudice is a waste of time.

Remember your childhood visions, if you think you can do something, you can. If you think you can't, you're right. Never regret and never look back. It is a waste of energy, and its only good for wallowing in.

Laugh at least once a day, or your day is wasted.

You will become an adult when you realize that you have a right not only to be right but also to be wrong.

And remember always I love you, you are a gift from God.

He is opening the doors for you to follow.
