Head of the underground resistance movment, AVALANCHE, Barret is fighting the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc. He depends on his brute stregnth and his 'Gun-Arm' to see him through. His wife died in an accident several years ago, and he now lives with his daughter, Marlene.

His attacks are extremely powerful, and have the added benefit of being long range. His Limit Breaks are good, but not great.
