Comments on the wrestling:
103# Brent Reinhard looked very good. You would never have guessed it was his first
varsity tournament. Brent was cool and methodical in his matches, he showed
poise and confidence.
112# Andy Cowell had a great weekend working hard for the team, getting two pins
and a tough 5-4 win in the finals.
119# Mitch Kuhlman dominated the field in pinning all three opponents.
125# Chad Mifek wrestled well in his first varsity tournament Placing 6th.
Chad was competitive in every match and will win those close matches as he
gains experience.
130# Blaine Kuhlman picked up his 100th win and pinned his way to a championship.
Blaine and the rest of the upper classmen showed great leadership and
support thoughtout the tournament.
135# Jeremy Glende wrestled to a tough 2nd place finish in probably the toughest
weight class of the tournament.
140# Brent Glende wrestled well in his first varsity tournament Placing 3th.
145# Steve Maas placed 3th. Steve wrestled with heart losing only to the
eventual champion.
152# Cary Liebig placed 5th. Cary showed sparks of quality wrestling and
will his wrestling will solidify as the year progresses.
160# Jay Decox placed 5th. Jay also has good moments and will string more
of those together as the year goes on.
171# Kevin Decox wrestled well in his second place finish.
189# Aaron Schrott was a pleasant surprise placing 3rd, Aaron looks to be a
solid wrestler.
275# Matt Larson wrestled a tough match in the finals and came up just
short of a championship.
