Equip a Deku Stick. Get to a high area and then slash. Use Z target and A for this, and it should work. When you fall, hit something, and your stick should break in half, but don't worry, Link will still be holding a Deku Stick--or at least, a half of one! You can keep using this and it won't break. It could be used as a sword, but this doesn't last forever. When you draw another weapon and then switch back to a Deku Stick, you'll have to repeat this glitch again.
