This one's about a cousin that was very special to me.
I miss him a lot.
Just A Day
It used to be just another day of the week.
Just a day in the month.
A day in the year.
It was a day just like any other.
It would come and go,
No one would notice it go by.
Until that day became something more.
A day that some remember when it comes.
But not anymore.
Only a few out of a great many see it that way.
To them it's much, much more than any other day.
To them it's the day he died.
The day he took that fateful ride.
The day he thought he was only going to a game.
The day he got into that truck.
The day that truck hit the guard rail.
The day he flew out the back and hit the pavement.
That was the day he died.
Who knows if he saw death coming.
Who knows if he was too shocked to know.
Who knows what would of happened if he hadn't gone.
If he hadn't died none of us would morn this day.
Today would a day just like any other.
