The Spell

Chapter 12

I got up in the middle of the night and went to the living room. I was worried about how everyone was acting. I was scared that something bad was going to happen or something else to that extent. Then I thought maybe something really good was going to happen. It wasn't my birthday, Christmas, or any other holiday. I tried to go to bed in my bed but it didn't work so I went back in the living room and went to sleep on the hammock. I woke up the next morning when the sun started to shine in my face. Everyone else was up.

"Good morning sleepy Jean uh Sydney" Davy said jokingly.

"Good morning" I said as a walked back to my room to get some clothes on.

I pulled on some blue flood pants and a white tank top. I was pulling my hair up in a high ponytail when I walked out of my room. I walked into Micky and Mike's room and grabbed 2 strings of love beads off of Micky's bed. Then I slid down the banister and jumped into the kitchen.

"Hi everybody" I said as I grabbed a bagel and the cream cheese.

Just as I was about to put the bagel in my mouth the doorbell rang. I jumped up before anybody else did so I ran to the door. It was the landlord. "Where's the rent?" he yelled.

"Oh Sorry I forgot to pay" I pulled some cash out of my pocket which was not there a second before.

The landlord left and I ran back to the table.

"You really didn't have to do that," Davy said as he pulled some change from his pocket.

"No, it's fine. That was my share." I said as I pulled off a piece of bagel.

"Hey guys I need to ask you something" I said when everyone was about to go their own separate ways.

"What?" Peter said as they all sat back down.

"Why were you guys acting weird last night?" I said looking at all of them.

"Um... well... Amy why don't you tell her" Mike said.

"No I think it would be best if Jesse told her" Amy said quickly.

"Somebody just tell me," I said because that was getting old fast.

"Ok" Jesse said "Well it's like this" but before she could finish I saw a flash of bright orange light.

I ran outside and saw Christie standing on the beach. She looked around and then said the chant and went back. I thought that was odd but I ran back inside before anybody else came outside.

"Sorry" I said as I slid back in the seat. "What were you about to say?"

"Ok, I was about to say" Jesse said.

"She was about to say that we have something to give you" Mike finally finished.

"Oh" I said hoping it was something good.

"Well it is a guitar so you can play with us all the time," Davy said as Peter pulled a blue electric guitar from that big black suitcase.

"Oh my gosh, that is so sweet. I have wanted one like this for a long time. Wait, are you saying I can play with you anytime I want?" I said almost exploding with happiness.

"Yup anytime. When we played at the new restaurant we sounded great." Peter said as he put the guitar next to Mike's on the stage.

From than on nobody acted weird or different. It was great to have everybody back to normal. It was about 12:00 by then so we decided to go out to eat. We got downtown and started to walk around trying to decide on a restaurant. We all wanted to eat different things so we split up. Micky, Amy, Jesse, and Davy went to this Italian place. Mike, Peter, and I went to this burger place. When we got to the burger place we went in and sat down. There was hardly anyone at that restaurant. There was a place to do Karoake and I was trying to get Mike and Peter to sing with me. It took awhile but after we had ordered we got up there and sang "Sometime in the Morning" acapella. We knew the whole tune in our head so we didn't need the background music. We had finished and we were laughing so hard. Just then Davy and Micky walk in.

"Hey what are you guys doing here?" I said as I was trying to calm myself down.

"We decided we didn't want Italian so we just left Amy and Jesse there. They didn't mind," said Micky.

"Did you guys hear us singing?" I said as I grabbed my drink.

"Nope, but I bet it would of been hilarious," Davy said as he sat down.

"Yes it sure was," Mike said as he put his hat back on.

I couldn't believe that Jesse and Amy didn't mind being alone. They weren't the best if friends they weren't close to that at all. I forgot about that though. I mean I was alone with all the Monkees. We had a great time. We talked about everything. We talked about music, girls, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

We were there for at least 2 hours.
