Pasture Layout

The pastures are laid out along the T-shaped barn so that the stallion/colt pastures are on the right, and the main pasture (every other equine) is on the left side. The side pasture is along the top bar of the T. The mare pasture is 20 square acres, with 2 tubs for drinking. Besides long grass, clover grows in patches along with a few violets. The fences are wooden.

Spirit Mountain is the boss mare of the main pasture, and Clipped Gold is second-in-command. Celestial Heaven is third, Black Fire, Briar Rose, and Clipped Image come below them, and it continues down with Princess Starr, Rosebud Warrior, and two donkeys, Little Birdie and LB’s pal Nostalgia. Below Nostalgia are Little Frosty and Last Princess. Beneath them are the other two donkeys, then London Exchange, Crash And Burn (mule), then Silver Thunder, Gallant Northstar and Auster (mule). Amiga steps in here, and then Thunder Lady Next come: Final Thunder, Celestial Arrow, Das Marchen, King's Spanish Lady, Das Marchen, and on down to Blacki, Starbuck, and lowest-ranking Clouds Of Fire.

The side pasture is a very lush field with a little brook running through it and a little maple tree. It used to have an oak tree but this was cut down because of the potential poison in the acorns and leaves. Currently, it is split into 2 parts. 1/3 is permanent home to Justa Catt, our gelding with HYPP disease who needs to be away from all stress. The other 2/3 are for mares in the late stages of pregnancy and for foals to play their first 3 weeks in until they join the big group. It is also used for new horses for a day or two, injured horses, and weanlings. The full pasture is 6 square acres of land.

The stallions and colts at least 2 years old each have their own pasture which begins as a very narrow chute that is connected to their stalls, and then opens up into a larger pasture, 1 x 2 acres. Indigo Ebony has the first pasture. Then, the pastures are filled by Roll Of Thunder, Fire Of Courage, Mountain Rainmaker, Spooky Fox w/ Dreamstar (Dreamstar is his best friend) Unclipped Perfection, Dark Side Of The Moon and Deep Dreamer sharing a pen, Crowning Thunder, Pennies And Dimes, and Thunder Warrior.

Even here, the stallions have ranks. Indigo Ebony considers himself The Boss but few of the other listen to him. Most look to Unclipped Perfection or Roll Of Thunder. After this, the younger horses are ranked: Mountain Rainmaker, Dark Side Of The Moon, Crowning Thunder, Deep Dreamer, Pennies And Dimes, Spooky Fox and finally the gelding Dreamstar.

The barn and pastures are placed down a small hill from the house. At the end of the right wing aisle, you turn left after leaving the barn. This will take you into another empty pasture, once for cows, now divded in half. Thunder Fire and Beyond The Sea share one half, and Krycek has the other half.

Though not connected to the barn or pastures, there are a few rings, almost touching the woods, near the edge of the property. There are two circular lunging pens, a jumping course, and a dressage ring. Back to the tour guide.
