Yaninka loves being the center of attention. One funny little quirk is her love of flower garlands draped around her neck. I put one on her for fun, and she paraded it around like a medal. She likes to be petted but can't stay still for too long -- she needs to move. She's very good at loading into a trailer and is easy to lead, following along at the merest pull. Her favorite time to be out in the pasture is in the early morning, where she can prance through the fresh dew.
Yaninka looks so much like a Friesian that it's hard to remember she's half Mustang. The only visible differences are her thinner mane and tail and more close-coupled body. She was a very precocious filly, almost like a human child in her curiosity about the outside world -- hence, her name. Yaninka is one of the best accidents that could have happened -- I was years away from breeding her dam, when suddenly she appeared. As beloved as any of my pure Mustangs, I can't imagine life without her; her spirit brightens the whole farm.
