Xena is a lot like her half-sister, Kachina; spunky and adventurous. She can never stand still -- loose in the pasture, she always finds a reason to go galloping across the terrain like a wild horse on the run. With people, she is affectionate and will stand with her head down for hugs, in hopes of being scratched between the eyes (like behind the ears for dogs). Xena also likes being bathed so she can splash in the running water from the hose, and on the trail she won't leave a stream until she has splashed her legs up to her belly. She likes snow equally well, for "snow baths." (infinitely better than "mud baths") Cats and dogs are both welcome in Xena's stall. Felines will often curl up on her back (or her knees, when she lies down), and sometimes a tired dog will flop down by her side. As for friends, Xena and Kachina" are sometimes one of the pairs in the pasture -- it's always cute to see two similarly colored mares together, especially when they're playing tag. Overall, Xena is a playful and aimable companion.
