Windchaser is an elegant beauty of a mare. Although her parents are small, Windy has long, graceful limbs (with, inexplicably, a bit of feathering around her hocks), an almost Arabian head, and mane and tail that flow like silk. Not bad, considering that she is inbred. Her personality matches her outward beauty, and it is difficult to find a mare as sweet as her. She trusts her human friends wholeheartedly, doing whatever they ask and striving to please. She's easy to catch, for she'll walk right up to you when you call her name. She loves to be groomed and petted, and will lean her head against you lovingly in hopes of extra attention. She's one of the best horses to ride bareback, because she's very responsive. She is also the only one of our current horses who can be ridden completely without tack, guided by legs and neck cues alone. In short, she's the perfect "summer trail horse."
Windy loves the cats, especially Asha, but likes dogs as well. Interestingly enough, she's really intrigued by cattle. She went past a herd once on the trail, and couldn't stop staring at the strange creatures after hearing one moo. This made her difficult to train as a cow horse - she didn't want to chase and herd them, she wanted to join them and play. Eventually, she came around, but during calf roping, for example, as soon as the animal is tied she rushes up to it, nosing it anxiously to make sure it isn't hurt. Then, ever fair, she'll nuzzle her rider as if to say, "We make a good team, huh?"
