Rafe embodies none of the hotblooded, hot-tempered attitude too often thought of in Arabian stallions. Rather, on the whole he is a very quiet and unassuming horse, traits that help him excel at Western pleasure. Sweet-natured as well as toothed, he loves nibbling at lumps of sugar. Quite the charmer, he naturally trots with his neck in an arch (under English tack), managing to look regal and obedient all at once. Rafe is an incredible love-bug at heart, always looking for love and kisses. Besides being a dream mount with impeccable manners (feed him from your hand; he'll pick it up in his teeth and step backwards to chew, rather than slobber on you), he is a curteous stallion, always holding stock-still for mounting or dismounting, and will even take on double riders (when bareback). Few stallions are as affectionate and trustworthy as this one -- he even likes to give "hugs" by turning his head and pressing you against his side, snorting softly.
