Prairie Flower lives up to her name with beauty darker and more exotic than her namesake, but equally exquisite. Her Spanish heritage is obvious in her small and neatly pricked ears and her soft, thick mane and tail. Prairie is not only lovely, but gentle as well. She enjoys meeting people but is equally happy to remain at home in the pasture. She struck up a friendship with Windy and Yaninka early on, and in their trio she, the buckskin, easily sticks out between black and gray. Prairie's an affectionate horse of the "buddy" variety. She'll folllow your movements as you collect grooming supplies, or lay down beside you in the grass should you fancy reading a book. Her absolute favorite thing to do is go swimming (with or without a rider). She plunges straight into the lake or river, wading as deep as she can. Even if it's just a little brook or stream, she won't cross without stopping to splash her hooves and have a drink. She'll even paw in the water trough for amusement on hot days. Oddly enough, she despises walking muddy trails, and tries to skirt every mud pudle. Her favorite place to be scratched is between the ears, though she'll take a pat anywhere. Words of encouragement keep her going as well or better than treat tidbits.
