Frozen Fire can be a bit of a goofball. He’s not all that big for a horse, but he doesn’t always watch where he’s going and bangs into other horses (and people), then looks behind himself in bewilderment as if wondering what hit him. Although inclined to be lazy when younger, Jack blossomed into a gorgeous show animal and one of the best working all-around horses I've ever owned. He goes anywhere, does anything, all with a pleasant attitude. (Among his many uses are "pillow" -- you can lie down beside him and lean on his stomach, and he won't budge an inch until you do). Jack is an easy keeper, with a seemingly iron stomach, as he can eat just about any treat he picks up (including such things as Jolly Ranchers and a baked potato) without falling ill. Nonetheless, he is a very kind horse who will gently nuzzle you (if he's feeling affectionate). However, he'll also use you as a scratching post when the flies become too much for him, and occasionally his vigorous nudges send people toppling off their feet. At this point, his eyes open in surprise and he leans down to examine you. Jack also loves to play with newborn kittens (as well as full grown cats), delighting to feel their warm, furry bodies pressed up against his, or a soft paw against his cheek.
