Dakota is, plainly put, one of my favorite Mustangs. Although I had hoped for a filly, a spotted black, or pretty much anything except a plain bay colt, his personality quickly won me over. He bonded early with both our Collie, Shep, as well as the filly his age, Sleeping Beauty. He is playful with an extremely friendly personality, steady and loyal. Dakota simply loves people; he doesn't have a mean bone in his body, and never acts out. Dakota is extremely intelligent and easy to train, picking up on new commands with startling speed. Being such a talented horse, he will not only perform under saddle but will also come running at the sound of his name and stretch his neck out to have it scratched. He can also shake, sit, kneel to be mounted, and rear on command. His newest trick is to take hold of a dog's leash and "walk" him (much to the chagrin of the Collies). While not yet a ham, the gelding does hold his head up high and prance smartly when giving a performance.
