Eternal Security

One of the most misunderstood doctrines of the scriptures is eternal security of the born again believer in Christ. Consider the scriptures below concerning eternal security.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH ETERNAL LIFE, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24)

All believers have eternal life. All believers are sealed. All believers are kept by the power of God. All believers have knowledge of eternal life. All believers have confidence. All believers are secure in the love of Christ. All believers in Christ are new creatures and nothing can seperate them from the love of Christ.

"That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were SEALED with the Holy Spirit of promise." (Eph.1:12,13)

God does not want the believer to fear the loss of his salvation. A man who constantly is in fear cannot be made perfect in love. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." (1John 4:18) One can only be made perfect in love when He trusts God fully at His word and all His promises! "And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even ETERNAL LIFE," (1John 2:25)

The word of God teaches that a born again believer cannot lose eternal life even if that person sins. We all fall short! A man by his conduct can be severly chastised and reap what he sows, but once a man is born again he cannot ever be unborn! He is still a child of the King!

"To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through FAITH unto salvation..."(1Pet. 1:4-5)

"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"(Titus1:2)

It is scripturely clear that a person who has received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior remains eternally secure in Him!
