Class 47's

Class 47's

The class 47's which were built by Brush at their Falcon works in Lougthborugh between 1963 and 1967. They have sulzer engines and have over the years come under many conversion jobs, hence the vivid range of sub classes, the 47's are the type 5 vetrans, some are being converted to class 57's, although these will be used on freightliner work.

The class 47 is dual purpose loco, although some sub classes made sure that they are only used on freight work. These are 47/0/3, the 47/4/7/8/9 can be used on freight on passenger as they have a train heat option and faster speed.

Clas 47 sub class description
47/0 Dual braked and max speed 75 no ETH
47/3 Same as above but with more weight for tration grip on the rail.
47/4 Parcels and everyday use loco, dual braked and ETH capabilty
47/7 Same as above but with TDM mutiple working via RCH clips.
47/8 Same as above but no mutiple working and air brake only
47/9 same as 47/4 but for esxperiments such as new engine.
