I was in my room thinking about how rude I was to BJ and Nick. I admit... I am a rude person, but usually not that rude!! :-) Basically, I was being eaten up with guilt. Even though they were annoying, it's not like what they said was totally unpleasing! So, I decided to call BJ and apologize. She answered the phone, "Hello?" "Hi BJ... it's me" I said reluctantly. "Oh, hey Corinne! What are you doing?" she said. "Nothing. I just wanted to apologize to you and Nick about the way I yelled at you guys yesterday," I answered. "Oh, that's ok. I'm sorry we bugged you so much. But, would you like to come over?" she asked. "OK... it doesn't take much to apologize to you, does it?" I slightly giggled. "Sure, I'll come over," I added. "Ok, cool! I'm glad you're not mad at me. So, I'll see you soon, then!!" BJ said. "Ok, bye!" I said. I hung up the phone and hopped in my car. A few moments later I arrived at BJ's house. I went up and knocked on the front door. I heard all the little ones running around inside; "I'll get it!!" Aaron called. "NO... I'll get it!!" Angel screamed. Then the door swung open with both kids stuck to it. I laughed a little. "Uh... hey guys!" I said. "Oh, hi Corinne!" they both answered me simultaneously. I walked inside the house. "BJ!!!!!" I screamed, "I'm HERE!!!" I heard BJ's muffled voice from upstairs, but I couldn't figure out what she was saying. She probably just said she'd be down soon or something. Then, Nick walked out of the kitchen... followed by Brian. "Hey Corinne, what's up?" Nick asked. "Oh, nothing Nick. Hey Brian... when did you get here?" I answered. "I've been here all day," Brian answered. It figures that BJ would invite me over after we got in a fight about Brian last night. Geeze... "Oh, ok. So... what are you guys doing today?" I asked. "Didn't BJ tell you?" Nick asked. "We're all going out today... you were invited, right?" he said with a devilish grin. He knew exactly what was going on... I know he did. I blushed. "I am going to go talk with your sister. Excuse me," I growled. I started walking up the stairs, and then asked "How was your date last night, Brian?" "Oh... it was fun," he answered. I nodded and continued walking up stairs. "About as fun as a root-canal..." he added. Only Nick heard him, though. "What do ya mean, Rok?" Nick asked him, very curious as to Brian's comment. "I don't know, Nick. She's gotten so clingy. I mean... that sounded wrong. Oh, never mind," he moaned. Nick grinned devilishly. He never did like Sarah. He quickly wiped the goofy grin off his face, "What do you mean? What happened last night?" he asked trying to sound as concerned as possible. "Do you remember the way I met Sarah? It was that one night at that club Howie dragged us to. She was the most kind, outgoing person... and she was having fun. Now, it's like she doesn't have fun anywhere. She wont go to the carnival with me, or amusement parks, or anything like that. It all has to be someplace private, and romantic. Don't get me wrong, I love doing things like that with her, but she's totally wiped out the "friend" part of our relationship. Now, we're just lovers. I don't know Nick... I can't stand it," Brian said. Nick about fell backwards with Brian's words. This was the perfect moment to foil their relationship! Granted, he'd feel bad... but at least he'd have his best friend back!! "Well Brian," he said clearing his throat, trying to keep from smiling. "I know what you mean. You can't have a relationship unless you're friends and lovers. I think you need a girl that likes to go out, like we do. You know, like... some one you're already friends with... (ahem) kind and caring, and not possessive," he finished up. Brian looked at his friend, arching his eyebrow, confused. "What are you talking about, Nick?" he asked. "Oh, nothin'. I was just talking like... hypothetically," Nick answered, trying to keep discreet. He looked over at Brian, and noticed he was still giving him a confused look. In the meantime, I had made it upstairs to BJ's room and was chewing her out. "Why didn't you say in the first place that Brian was going to be here?" I asked her, annoyed. "Because I didn't know if you'd still come or not!" she said, trying to look innocent. I gave her a look similar to Brian's. "Come on, Corinne! You know that if I said Brian was going to be here, and we were all going to the same place, you wouldn't have come!" "So what?! You should have told me anyway," I growled. "Hey! It's not my fault you've got a crush on Brian!" she said smartly. "You got a crush on Brian?!?!" I heard from the doorway. I whipped my head around to see who it was, and I saw Angel standing at the door. She was smiling wickedly, and giggling. "Cool! Maybe you can marry Brian and I can marry Kevin, and then we'll be related!" she giggled. I smiled at her, trying not to laugh. "Hi Angel! You're not going to tell anyone what you heard, right?" I asked her. She grinned at me. "Tell 'em what? That you looove Brian?" she cooed. "Hmm... I don't know..." she answered wickedly. I gave her a look. "Now Angel, if you mention this to anyone, I might have to chase you down and shoot you!" I joked. Angel got wide-eyed and smiled smugly. "Well then... I guess I better hurry up and tell Brian now!" she said quickly as she ran down the hall. "Ahh!! Angel!" I shouted as I ran after her, laughing. I was genuinely upset, but found the whole situation way too funny. She laughed her way into almost every room as I chased her. She zipped down the stairs to where Brian and Nick were still standing, talking. I was only a few steps behind her, so as soon as she made it off the bottom step, I was right behind her. I picked her up and started swinging her around in circles, laughing. She squealed as I spun her. We were both giggling and out of breath. "You see, Sarah doesn't do stuff like that either!" Brian told Nick as they observed the two of us goofing around. I always had fun with Angel, 'cause I knew her weak spots, (as she did mine)! "Yeah... you need a girl who likes kids, too!" Nick said, seizing the moment. I stopped spinning Angel, and we both fell dizzily to the floor. We were laughing at each other, as we noticed the guys watching us. Nick had the stupidest expression, as if he were saying, "what are you doing?!" Brian was looking at us and smiling. "Still like having fun with the younger ones, hmm?" Brian asked me with a big smile. "Who are you calling 'younger'?" Angel shouted. "I'm old enough, dang it! And hey... I have a thing or two to tell you! Corinne said that- mfhsohenmdf..." she mumbled as I clasped my hand over her mouth. "YEAH... I do like hanging out with Angel... most of the time!" I joked as I held Angel. Brian smiled at me; partly because of the joke, partly because he was wondering what the big secret Angel had was. Just then the doorbell rang, saving me from being embarrassed. Nick shook his head at me, and walked to the door. Kevin, followed by AJ and Howie, were standing outside. I heard Angel gasp under my hand, and push herself away, hopping up. "HI KEVIN!" she shouted excitedly. Kevin smiled and looked over at Angel. "Hi sweetheart! How are you?" he asked. Angel about fainted when he called her 'sweetheart'. I was trying not to laugh, as I clasped my hand over my mouth. "Oh... uh... nothing much. I mean, I'm fine," Angel fumbled. This time Nick started giggling. I shot him a look, and he quieted down quickly. Brian noticed the situation, and quickly caught on to what was going on. He grinned at me, helping me up. "Does Angel have a crush on Kevin?" he whispered in my ear. I looked at him and smiled. Brian started snickering, "How cute!" he whispered. AJ pushed himself by Kevin as they all started walking in. "So Brian... you are coming with us this time, right?" he said in his raspy voice. He smiled as Brian gave him a look. "YES, AJ... I'm coming this time!" Brian answered. BJ came running down the stairs when she heard the guys arrive. I was still looking at Angel as Kevin walked up to her. "So, how has your day been?" he asked her. She blushed furiously. "It's been ok," she answered bashfully. Kevin smiled, "that's good!" he said. Kevin was always one to include the little ones. He loved talking to people, and he always made everyone around him feel comfortable: no matter what the age. They chatted on a bit, and Kevin gave her a big hug. She was as bright as a stop sign, and looked so cute. "Awwwww" Brian cooed as he hugged me to him, "how cuuuuute!!" He leaned his head on top of mine as he held me. I could feel my face heat up, probably matching Angel's. BJ just grinned as she watched us. He looked at me and started singing "Puppy Love." He was making me giggle every step of the way as we swayed back and forth. "And they call it-- Puppy looooove..." Brian crooned. Angel was already blushing furiously, but then Kevin started to blush as well. "You're not funny!" he scowled as we laughed. "Awe... they're cute at this age!" I said directed to Kevin. Brian laughed as Kevin gave me a dirty look. "So, where are we going, huh, huh, huh??!" AJ said, changing the subject. "Well... Brian and I were talking," Nick started, "and since Brian has been deprived the pleasure of going to an amusement park for a while, we thought it would be kind of cool to go down to the amusement park by the beach... like we originally planned." He glared over at Brian, and Brian started blushing. "Cool! I haven't been down there in a while," BJ said as she grabbed her jacket, her face lighting up. "You mean, you haven't been to the Ferris Wheel in a while!!" Nick cooed. BJ blushed at the thought of being caught thinking about the guy at the wheel. "Well, ok then... let's go! Brian... you sure you don't want to wait a while to see if Sarah shows up?" AJ taunted. Brian didn't make a sound; but instead shot AJ a warning look. AJ quickly quieted down, trying to contain his laughter. "OK AJ... quit it. Let's all go!" I shouted impatiently. The others followed my lead, and grabbed all their stuff. "You're leaving already?!?" said a heartbroken Angel. "Don't worry... I'll bring you back a prize, OK?" Kevin said, trying to console her. It worked, because Angel started grinning uncontrollably. We all left the house, and split up into 2 cars. It was BJ, Kevin, Brian, and I in one car, and AJ, Howie, and Nick in the other. We left for the Amusement park, laughing and singing (ugh!) every step of the way! |
