Name: Larry Don McQuay Age: 35 (in 1999) Location: San Antonio, Texas Crime: Child molestation. Details: McQuay, a former school bus driver for San Antonio's Northeast Independent School District, served 3 years and 2 months of an 8-year sentence for abusing his ex-girlfriend's 7-year-old son. He is currently serving a 20-year term for molesting the boy's sister. McQuay is a self-professed "child molesting demon" who has admitted to fondling and otherwise violating some 240 children, mostly young boys. He gained national notoriety when he asked a judge to allow him to be chemically castrated — threatening to kill his next victims upon release from prison if the procedure were not approved. During his parole between sentences, McQuay lived in a halfway house in San Antonio under conditions that prison officials said were among the most restrictive ever issued. McQuay will be eligible for parole again in 2005, however, it's likely there will be a civil commitment afterwards that will keep McQuay out of circulation for the rest of his life.
