Details: Betts, a previously convicted molester paroled from a California prison, raped a 14-year-old boy he lured to his Dorchester motel room. In addition to his conviction in California and this one, he was accused of sexually molesting three boys in Indiana and Ohio, and accused of sexually molesting two teen-age inmates while at Nashua Street Jail awaiting trial in the Boston case.
