*Chapter 1 Haliey*

I was still trying to sleep when we pulled into the driveway. We, my mother and I, had just driven from fun and exciting New York to dull and boring, laid back Tulsa, Oklahoma.
"Haliey, we're here!" my mother said excitedly.
"Finally!" I yelled sarcastically.
"Hey come on this is the best we could do, and you know it."
"Yeah, you divorced dad, moved me millions of miles away from all my friends and cool places, to drag me where? The Middle of Nowhere!"
"You'll make new friends here, honey, it's not the end of the world you know." my mother replied calmly.
"How would you know, you're not the teenager, things have changed since way back when, kids aren't gonna stare at the new kid at your work/"
"Come on Haliey that isn't fair, give me a break, this is hard on me too you know...."
"Hard on you, I have to live with the fact that because of you dad left how do you think that makes me feel? All because you couldn't keep your hands off what's his name..."
"THAT'S ENOUGH OUT OF YOU YOUNG LADY!" my mother yelled. "I'm not up to arguing with you right now Haliey. Now lets start unpacking.

"Mom! where do you want this shelf?"
"Go to bed I'll get it later, oh and remember Brad is coming to stay with us..."
"The one you left daddy for!" "Why are you marrying him? What's wrong with daddy?" I interupted angrily.
"I'm leaving for a business trip the day after tomorrow, I'll be here long enough for you to get setteled in." she said completely ignoring my outburst.
"I still don't see why I can't go with you!" I said with a hint of sadness in my voice.
"Oh, Haliey, we've gone over this a million times." my mother whined.
"I know, but..."
"No buts about it, it's a done deal." my mother cut in.
She got that tone she always gets when she's irritated. So I decided to back off. I went up to my room and slammed the door in a last effort at protest. Then I sat on my unmade bed. As I was looking around at all the boxes that cluttered my room, opened and not, I noticed a light go on at the neighbors house. The neighbors window and mine looked directly into eachother so I had a good view of what was going on in the room nextdoor. I got up to get a closer look, and as I drew nearer to the window, I saw the room was occupied by three guys and their father. One of them looked a little older than me maybe 16 or 17, the second one looked about my age either 14 or 15 and the third looked a little younger 12 or 13. Curious, I pressed my face closer to the glass for a better look. As I did I saw that the middle one was fine. Then and there, I promised myself that I would go over and meet my new neighbors the next day, first chance I got.

The next morning as her alarm went off Haliey sat groggily. In a few minutes she was awake and remembered that she had some new friends to make. Hurriedly she got up, showered and threw on her least crupled outfit. It was a lime green and orange tank and a pair of lime green shorts. Her father had bought her before she left. She quickly curled her golden blonde hair and threw some make-up on her silky but tan complexion. Running down the stairs she put on her favorite sandals that had three inch heels and told her mom she'd be back in a while. She ran out into the yard and stopped dead in her tracks. Across the street she saw the three boys from the night before and some of their friends. They were all playing basketball. All she could do was stare. There right in front of her eyes, was a group of guys, shirts off, glistening with sweat in the hot afternoon sun. She ran back into her house gasping for air. Her mom appeared in the room suddenly.
"Haliey what's wrong, are you okay?" her mother questioned in a worried tone.
"Yeah, I'm okay, excuse me I think I'll go upstairs and unpack."
"I thought you were going our for awhile."
"I changed my mind."
She ran up to her room and flung herself on her bed. She couldn't keep the picuture of Angel Boy (the boy she saw the night before) across the street playing basketball. As she lay there she saw a light go on across the yard like the night before. But, instead fo making it obvious that she was looking at all the hot, sweaty boys that walked into the room at that moment. She lazily walked over to the window opened it and stepped back and started rumaging through boxes on the floor.
"Finally" she called out as she pulled out parts of her huge stereo system.
"Dangit, where are the speakers!"
"Mom!"
"What, you don't have to yell I'm standing right here."
"How long have you been standing right there?"
"Long enough to see you drool all over the boys next door!" her mother replied snickering
"Actually only one"
"Ah I see here's another box maybe your speakers are in there, are you planing on blowing out his boy's ears so that he notices you?"
"Shut up" I told my mother while trying to shove her out my bedroom door.
Haliey then sat down on the floor and ripped open the box her mother gave to her and found what she was looking for, she then hooked everything up and turned on the radio. Then because she wanted to take a peek nextdoor she pushed her desk up next to the window and sat down. When she looked up Angel Boy was looking right at her.
He quickly looked away.
