Chapter 8

The next day, evening, whatever...

"Yeah! Who hooo! Alright! Yeaaah!!! Ha ha ha...." Zac babbled incoherently. He was extremly excited about Christmas, the next morning.

"Zac! Calm down! I know you're excited, but the whole planet doesn't have to find out, do they? And Dawn'll be here any second." Shouted Taylor.

This shut Zac up in a second. "You're just mad that you dared us to kiss, and not you and Dawn... He he he he! Tay loves Dawn!!! Tay loves Dawn!!!" Zac said, laughing. He knew it was mean, but he couldn't help it.

"Shut up! I don't love her."

"Yeah, you do. You told Ike so!"

"You were awake?!?!?"

"I'm 12. I don't fall asleep as soon as I hit the pillow."

"Oh, now I have to hurt you!" Taulor would've tackled Zac, if Zac hadn't run out of the room, running full-speed into Dawn, knocking her down and landing on top her.

"Ow! Hey, am I interupting something?... Zac, you can get off me now." Said Dawn, as she lay on the hall floor wit Zac on top of her.

Zac rolled off her, blushing furiously. "Sorry."

(**Author's Note: Hey, don't take that in a sick way. It's not how it was intended. I'm a total nympho sometimes, but that's NOT WHAT I MEANT BY THAT!!!**)

Tay just gave her an innocent look, and smiled. "Uh, no. Not at all..."

Dawn stood up and walked into the guy's messy room. Then she sighed deeply. "Taylor, can I talk to Zac for a second?"

"Why?" He asked suspiciously.

"Do I need your approval? Or can I talk to him?"

"Tay, get a life. She wants me, I mean, she wants to TALK to me..."

"Fine... whatever. I'll go find Ike and Steven or something." He walked slowly out the door, and shut it behind him.

Then Dawn turned to Zac, and sighed again. "Um, Zac. Remember when I said I had to tell you something, but not on the phone?"

"Yeah."

"Ok, well... this is it. It's a little hard to understand at first, but I hope you get the message..." With this, Dawn did something she never thought she'd do:

She looked into his eyes, not just looked, but fell into them, into the moment. And she brought herself closer to him.

"Dawn?" Zac asked cautiosly. No reply.

Dawn was just inches apart from him, and put her arm around his shoulders. Zac wasn't certain her knew what was going to happen, but he had a good idea. And he was right. Dawn leaned closer and her lips met his. She closed her eyes and kissed him harder until he returned it. And he did, nervously at first, and then more confidently. This was better than Truth Or Dare... But he had had enough. He wasn't ready for this yet, and he knew it. Zac pushed Dawn away gently. She looked upset. She got up to leave. But she turned back to say:

"Merry Christmas, Zac."

Then she caught the look on his face. It was many in one. Surprise, confusion and fulfillment. Dawn wasn't sure of what to do, so she ran down the stairs before the tears could come...

Zac just sat, staring wide-eyed at the door.
