The next morning, Dawn and Steven walked over to the Hansons'. They were going to the mall in a few minutes.
"Hey! Good morning, guys!" She said, smiling when they came to the door. "Please say you're ready to go?!"
"Hi Dawn. This is Steven, right?" Greeted Ike.
"Hi. That's me. And you're Ike right?" Replied Steven.
"Hello, I'm Taylor. Nice to meet you, Steven." Said Tay.
"Hi!!! I'm Zac." said Zac.
"Are we going now???" Said Dawn, rather impatiently.
"Yeah, sure. Let's get our coats, and we'll go..." Said Ike.
Soon, the 5 were piling into Isaac's car, and were on their way to the giant mall. Ike and Steven sat up front, while Dawn hopped inthe back. Zac was about to get in beside her, but Tay pushed him out of the way, and got in the middle. Dawn gave him a what's with you??? look, and Zac sat down and shut the door, more confused than ever. A few minutes later, they were there.
"Yeah, okay. So, we're here. Where first? We have an hour before the movie." Said Ike.
"Let's split up. Steven, you and Ike can, like, get to know wach other or something, and I'll hang with Zac and Taylor." Suggested Dawn. "Then, we meet at the movie."
"Sounds good to me." Said Tay, happy he'd be spending the day with Dawn.
"Then, let's book it, hmm?" Exclaimed Dawn, walking away from the group.
Taylor and Zac ran to catch up with Dawn, and fell into step on either side of her. Taylor on her left, Zac on her right.
"Where to first? Zac? Anyplace special?" Dawn asked quickly, as they walked into the centre of the mall, busy with last-minute shoppers.
"Nope, I don't think so..."
"Taylor?"
"No. It's up to you..."
"Allright... I have 20$, and its burnin' a hole in my pocket!..." Dawn said, happily.
(**Author's Note: Here, they shop. I don't feel like typing them going from store to store to store...etc. So, use your imagination...**)
*****MEANWHILE******
"So, um, Steven. How did you like living in New York? We've been there a lot lately, and I love it there." Said Ike, breaking the silence between them.
"It's... a nice place, but I don't miss it much. But I do miss it way more than Dawn does, She didn't exactly have many friends there, especially lately..." He replied.
"Yeah, when Tay asked her about her friends last night, she got all bitter and stuff. It was really weird." Ike said. "Um, what happened??"
"It's hard to explain, I guess. But, I'll tell you... as long as she doesn't find out I told you, okay?"
"Okay..."
"What happened was that she passed some stupid rumor at her school, and it ended up hurting her.... former... best-friend. Then all her other friends took the other girl's side, and told the whole school what she had done. It was all an accident, and Dawn was really depressed. She didn't mean to tell anyone! And so everyone was mean to her, and everything... that's why she was so happy when she left, 'cause she didn't figure that the whole country had heard about it yet." Steven said, smiling at the last part.
"Oh..." Ike said, letting it all sink in.
"Yeah, well you promise not to tell anyone, right?"
"Yeah, promise."
"Great.. hey, um, what's with your brother Taylor?" Steven asked, suspiciously. "Is he always like that? He was, like, completely obsessed with being next to Dawn in the car."
"No, he's not always like that, he's usually pretty quiet, especially around people he doesn't know. Well, most of the time... Um, well, it's my time to spill a secret, Taylor likes your sister... He told me, I guess that might be a reason..." Said Ike.
Steven laughed. "Oh! Okay, y'think that might be reason!!??!!"
They quickly stopped their conversation, when they caught sight of Dawn and they guys walking towards them...
*****ONE HOUR LATER*****
So, after an hour, they met up with Ike and Steven at the theatre in the mall. They were laughing like old friends, and they suddenly stopped when Dawn, Taylor and Zac walked up.
"What?" Asked Taylor.
"Nothing." Said Steven, still laughing quietly. "Why? Should there be something?"
This set Ike and Steven off again, and Dawn was looking at Steven curiously.
"Ok, well.... Whatever. Let's get in line, 'kay?"
"Yup, let's..." Said Zac.
The Hansons' were lucky there was such a crowd, and no one stopped to look at them. If someone did recognise them, they'd have a riot on their hands for sure.
(**Author's Note: Yeah, like that's possible!**)
They went into the movies, they all sat in a row: Steven, Isaac, Taylor, Dawn and Zac.
Once again, Tay made it a point to sit next to Dawn, who again thought this was werid. But by this time, Dawn had a lready guess that Tay liked her, but since she still didn't fee l the same way about him, she only spoke to Zac throughout the whole movie. (All 3 hours and 14 minutes!)
At the part in the movie when Kate and Leo are on theedge of the ship, and Kate is trying to fly, Taylor was feeling daring, and conviently tried to hold Dawn's hand. She was occupying most of the arm rest between them, and Taylor's arm was just barely resting beside of hers. This is when Taylor brushed his finger's along her hand, and looked at her, uncertain. Dawn just stared at him for a minute, raising at eyebrow, giving him and odd look. Then she looked back at Leo on the screen. Tay got embarassed, and un-sure of what do do. So he did nothing. She left his arm next to hers for the rest of the movie, his fingers partially draped over her hand... and the movie played on.
Eventually, the ship sunk, the movie ended and the lights came back on.
(**Author's Note: I explained the movie in normal people terms, and without detail, for those who haven't yet seen it... um, GO! GO SEE IT! : ) Kate and Leo are the real-people names of, y'know, Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio, because some people may not know the character's names... now, back to my story.**)
Steven had to stay at the mall a little longer, and Mrs. Baisly would come get him later. But Dawn drove home with the Hansons'.
Ike (obviously) drove. Dawn and Zac sat in the back, chatting about the movie. Zac was wondering why DAwn was looking at him funny, but Dawn knew how she was looking at him, 'cause she still had a crush on him... And Tay.. well, Taylor just sat nervously in the front seat. He had no idea what Dawn thought of him, or what exactly he was feeling himself. Then, when they got home(s?) ^_^ Dawn gave him a stange look that clearly said You make no sense to me, Taylor Hanson!, then she watched Zac run up to their door, with total interest.
