Why the Title CORE???
Some of us have wondered, why did Echelon title their album "Core"? Well, in the Summer 1998 issue of HONK, that question is answered.
Core --(kor) -n
1. The central part of a fleshy fruit, containing the seeds.
2. The central, innermost, or most essential part of anything.
3. ETC.....
Have you ever eaten a rotten apple? It looks fine on the outside, but when you bite into it, immediatly you know that something isn't right.
Sin is the same way. We try to look fine on the outside, while we are hurting, rotting and dying in the inside. You see, sin kills us. It destroys us from the inside out. We become hollow, empty shells.
BUT, we have the opportunity to live again. Jesus forgives our sins, making it possible for our guilt and shame to be erased - daily.
Central
All things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. -- Colossians 1:16-17
Innermost
The Lord does not look at the things people look at. They look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. -- 1 Samuel 16:7b
Essential
If God is for us, who can be against us? God did not keep back his own Son, but he gave him for us. If God did this, won't he freely separate us from the love of Christ? I am convinced that neither death nore life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nore any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -- Romans 8:31-32, 35, 38-39
Why The Shell?
When everything is stripped away, what is your center? We pray that it is Jesus Christ.
