Tim's Model Trucks - Page 10

THE RELIC

Look what was parked behind the barn for 20+ years! A 1961 Peterbilt 351! RNK Conversions wheels and tires.

372

1991 Peterbilt 372 cabover. Scratchbuilt cab, interior bumper. Stock AMT/Ertl chassis.

BISCUITS

International Short Hauler, dressed in Powdermilk Biscuits dress. Evan Hermel started this truck, and lost interest, then send it to me to finish. Thanks, Evan!

LAFF

Lambert Ahlborn Fast Freight. Ficticious company name made up from family names. 1970-ish Peterbilt little window 289 tractor. 3rd rebuild for this one!

SMALL KW

Low-Profile Kenworth fuel oil tanker. Both Kenworth and Peterbilt sold this model of truck, the Peterbilt version was a rebadged KW with ALL KW parts. I scratchbuilt the cab from Evergreen and Plastruct, using an old K123 kit's grille

TIME-DC

The Interstate Motor Express company (TIME) and Denver-Chicago (DC) company merged in the late 60's to form TIME-DC. The logos were made from old photographs and a shoulder patch. The tractor is an Ertl International Transtar II (co4070b) backdated to a '66 CO4000. The cab was modified to a shorter 74" BBC. Lots of weathering to make the rig look like it just went through salt/snow covered roads on a trip through the midwest.

EXPLOSIVE

Peterbilt 352 daycab COE straight truck, dressed as an explosives carrier. The company name is "Stang Michigan." Right colors, wrong cargo (they hauled gasoline and oils) and wrong brand, they were a Mack dealer, so the Peterbilt off too! This was built using nothing but spare and junked parts. The wheels are the only fresh-kit parts.

The cab was so badly damaged from glue from the previous builder (back in the 70's?) that the sleeper was cut off and discarded. A new back of cab was fabricated from sheet styrene.

362E

Another Peterbilt cabover straight truck. This one is a 2002 362E sleepercab. Heavily modified AMT T502 kit cab, Ford Short Hauler kit for chassis and van body, Revell Fuel tanks and wheels/tires. RNK tool boxes.

Modifications to the cab include the windshield, grafted in doors from the AMT 359 kit, reworked headlights, new lower body panels, steps, brass grab handles, Model Car Garage Peterbilt nameplates.
