** I Like my Music Lock-in **
There were 20 kids and 2 Adults at the lock-in, Tony Vatter was there also to D.J. and help with the games. They had discussion time, played games, danced, sang karaoke, played basketball and volleyball. The evening started at 7:00 pm and the kids mingled and talked.

At 7:30 we gathered in the class room for discussion time, the theme of the lock-in was "I like my Music" and each one was to bring there favorite CD to the lock-in. They divided into four groups of five and were given 4 or 5 CD's that were brought by someone from a different group. As a group they were to discuss the cover of the CD's, the message the music was sending, would they buy this CD and why, would my parents like or approve of the CD. Than they formed a circle and each group expressed there opinion to the other groups about the CD's.

At 9:00 was free time they danced, played basketball and more.

At 10:00 they played a game called Stick-em Up, they divided into two teams and picked a person to be taped to the wall, that person stood on a chair while the rest of the team duct taped them to the wall using two rolls of duct tape. When the duct tape was used up the chairs were removed from under the person and the team who's player stayed stuck on the wall the longest won, one player stayed stuck to the wall about 10 seconds and the other about 30 seconds "It was a Blast".

After the Stick-um Up game they got a bite to eat there was Sloppy Joe's, Nachos and a few other things then it was back free time where they enjoyed lots of different things to do.

At around Midnight they played a game called Cream Whistle. There were four groups of five, the first two groups stood at the table (one group on each side) a whistle was put on a plate than covered with whip cream at the sound of the horn the first player on each team was to get the whistle out of the whip cream using only there mouth (no hands) and blow the whistle before the next player could start, the first team who's fifth payer blew the whistle first won than after (lots) of clean up it was the next two groups turn, as you can see by the pictures they had a Blast.

At 1:00am they divided into four groups and played a game to decide what movies they would watch. Two teams stood about 8 feet apart and blew Q tips threw a straw across a center line the team with the most Q tips across the line after 3 minutes got to pick the movie. Both teams that won chose the same movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" so that's what they watched.

There was popcorn and ice cream during the movie and for those that did not want to watch the movie they played in the gym, sang karaoke and sat around and talked.

The movie got over about 3:30 and it was off to bed the girls slept in one class room and the boys in the other class room, the chaperones camped out in the hall between the class rooms. Some fell asleep right away and others wanted to talk. Four of the boys were chatting away and as time went by slowly one voice at a time went silent and at about 6:00 one last voice could be heard saying "hey are you still awake" and when there was no reply that was the last peep from the boys room. The girls on the other hand was a different story, most fell asleep but about 3 or 4 could be heard giggling and talking most of the night as time passed and daylight came they were still laughing and talking so a couple never did go to sleep.

At about 7:00am some started moving around while others continued to sleep until 8:00. There was cinnamon rolls, pop tarts, bananas, sunny D and apple juice for those that wanted a bite to eat. Than it was time to gather there belongings and get ready for there rides. For those who had the energy they played in the Gym while waiting for there ride while others sat quietly waiting.

The lock-in was a great success everyone seemed to have a good time and some expressed thoughts about having another sometime down the road.

Thanks to all that came and for making it a fun and enjoyable lock-in.

The four groups we divided into, and the discussion about the CD's we evalueated.

Everyone enjoyed the music and danced allot.

What fun this was sticking tape on the walls without getting in trouble.

Maybe I'll try this game at home in our kitchen and see what my parents say.

Karaoke and chat time while the others watched a movie.

The morning after. (Bah Humbug)
