Kliemann Purchases Mr. Clean Chevy
It was announced early Friday morning that Rev Limit driver Chris Kliemann has purchased the #33 Mr. Clean Chevrolet from team Owner Kelby McNath. The specifics of the deal were not specified. McNath sold the car and sponsor to Kliemann to get out of their contract with Mr. Clean. “With Adam Unable to fill in as a full time driver, we couldn’t hold up to our end of the sponsor deal, to place their logo on the car for 25 races.” With Kliemann purchasing the car, he can renegotiate a new contract with Mr. Clean. “We are going to have a limited schedule run for the car. Probably about 8-10 races.” Kliemann also announced that for 8 of those races Adam Cox will be the driver. Cox is stepping down to run for Rev-Limit full time in the Burnout Racing Series. “Adam couldn’t commit to a full time schedule in both, so he’s going to gain experience for us in BRS. Hopefully next year he can be the 6th strong fulltime car for RLR.”
This leaves 2 official spots open on the Rev-Limit roster. Jeremy Roth is out of the #8 citing family issues, and the 33 is no longer a Rev-Limit car. Team owner McNath is excited over the deal. “This gives us a chance to work a little smaller, make our core group of cars better, then we’ll add more cars, more drivers, and be an unstoppable force.”
The purchase of the 33 car hails the start of CK Motorsports Inc. CKMI is not an official team, and will not run for owners points in TCRL. “The whole reason behind this was to open up that extra spot on the Rev-Limit roster, and to give Adam an opportunity to run when he feels he’s ready to run.”
The #33 will still be built out of the Rev Limit garage, and will run with Rev-Limit power under the hood. Kliemann hasn’t announced any team member changes as of yet.
