These dogs have been in Mr Ladner's family for 4 generations now. They have been carefully bred for agility, intelligence, hunting instinct, and have a strong desire to please their master. This breed can be trained for just about anything, but are mainly used for squirrel, coon, bobcat,mt.lion, bear, and hogs. Some have even been very successfully used as search and rescue dogs. These dogs are great with children and will loyally protect their family.

Attaboy Max
More than 20 years ago, I heard about L.H. Ladner and his Blackmouth Cur dogs. I always liked the looks of what he bred and heard nothing but good about his dogs, even though few folks had them up where I lived. Well, just less than 2 years ago, I decided I wanted a cur for a squirrel dog and thought I'd take a chance on those Blackmouth Curs. I found out L.H. still had those black faced dogs I always dreamed about, so traveled down to Mississippi and met with him. I took a female pup that he'd saved for me and it didn't take me long to beg him into letting me have another male pup from a different litter. He was straight with me on those dogs, told me what to expect, and I told him I'd do what I could to ensure they had the chance to be good dogs. Now, at just less than 2 years old, I've got 2 dogs that I'd call near finished on squirrel and coming on strong on coon. They're fearless, good looking, best family dogs you could ask for, and I'm really looking forward to raising a litter and sharing with my family and friends. My dogs never had a trail laid for them, handle the best, were never worked on caged critters, and just did it naturally when exposed to the woods regularly. I got 2 great dogs out of 2 pups that were the last of their litters. Can't beat those odds. My hat's off to L.H. and the dedication he's put into producing a great breed of dog. Thanks, L.H. - Steve Middleton Ashland City, TN
Almost 21 years ago (in 1985),I got a pup from Mr Ladner for my husbands first Father's Day gift and what a gift that pup was!!My husband named him Mity Mutt. Not only was this a hunting dog,and our protector, but he was part of our family and was our friend. You cannot help but love these dogs! They are so intelligent...they are so easy to train and are natural hunters.I am very proud to say that Mr Ladner has been our friend all of these years. He is an honest man and will do his best to help you any way he can.Mr Ladner, thank you for your friendship all of these years and for giving us the chance to have such wonderful dogs
