Yag'dhul Sector

Yag'Dhul

Current Function:

The planet has a relatively large population for a rim world, and the cities of the Givin are prosperous. The planet gives a commercial and quality industrial base for NIF. The shipyards of Yag'Dhul produces minor vessels and parts for the NIF Navy. A number of Givin scientists also work in the NIF research department. The perhaps most important aspect of the system is its strategic location in the key between the Corellian Trade Spine and the Rimma Trade Route.

NIF-Developed History:

The planet was liberated during a SM operation. NIF received a distress call from the Givin and responded. The planet was under siege by one of the still operating Imperial warlords. While negotiations were opened, the warlord's forces proved less than friendly. Several Star Destroyers were captured in the following battle. Commandos sent to infiltrate the planet and organise the resistance among the Givin, ran into serious problem and were not relieved until space superiority was established. Later it was discovered that a secret Rogue Squadron space station was orbiting the planet. Intel surmise that this was the source of the problems for Imperial agents. No rebels were captured alive. We believe that they evacuated quietly when outnumbered. The space station is now under Imperial control and serves as a defence station.

Official Star Wars History:

Homeworld of the Givin, this is a small, dense planet with three moons. The moons exert intense gravitational forces on the small planet because they orbit in the opposite direction from Yag'Dhul. Yag'Dhul itself has a retrograde rotation of 175 standard hours, while the moons orbit the planet once every 53 standard hours. Thus, a month on Yag'Dhul is actually 122 hours shorter than its day. This sets up huge tidal forces that continually shifts its oceans and atmosphere from one side of the planet ot the other. This results in the displacement of the atmosphere and water around the planet, creating pockets of hard vacuum in certain areas. Many of the planet's lifeforms have simply survived by traveling with the tides, while the Givin have adapted by growing flexible exoskeletons that protect them from vacuum. They also developed hermetically-sealed cities that ensured a constant atmosphere, even during periods of low pressure. Their society has grown up around the intense mathematics needed to accurately predict the vacuum tides. This has given the Givin the reputation of being proficient mathematicians and strategists. The Givin also have a fairly advanced technology, and are respected starship builders in most sectors of the galaxy. The capital city is Dodecapolis.

Moorja

Current Function:

Moorja provides raw ore and foodstuffs for the rest of the New Imperial Federation

NIF-Developed History:

Moorja was taken during a SM operation. Due to the ion storms, the NIF was only able to land a small force consisting of stormtroopers and darktroopers. After taking over the base, they were able to repel a NR counter attack and hold the planet.

Official Star Wars History:

Moorja, this small Inner Rim world was governed by Salliche Ag, and was used to mining and agriculture. As long as the colonies on the world paid their taxes and sent all its production Coreward, Salliche left it alone. The population cared little for the galaxy outside it, and continued its production of ores and foodstuffs without much change for many years. During the height of the Clone Wars, Moorja was one of the first planets liberated by the Separatists during Operation Durge's Lance. It was later one of the first Separatist worlds to be defended by organic troops, a necessity given that Moorja's ion storms wreaked havoc with the droid control systems used on other worlds. Among the forces deployed to Moorja were the Neimoidian Gunnery Battalions, Gossam Commandos, and the Koorivar Fusiliers. Production of foodstuffs continued during the Galactic Civil War and following the Battle of Endor. A small population of Arcona mined salt on Moorja, and an Ithorian contingent harvested specialty fruits and low-yield forest crops. The average day on this temperate world lasts 17 standard hours, and its year lasts 310 local days.
