La Vulgara. What else can I say? If you don't know this band then who are you in the Grand Rapids music scene? Yeah, go on, hang your head in shame and read on:
but for those in the know, this band needs no introduction; the Vulgara's, Tony(bass), and Jason(gtr) have combined forces with Jason Mask on drums and Spencer Moore on vocals to form the sensational rock supergroup
La Vulgara
The band has just released thier full length , self titled debut album, LSL_025. The album is 12 tracks of pure rockstar thrash. And if you haven't picked up thier other two LSL releases, the Tonight (is the night) single, LSL_019, and I Go Bad single LSL_023, I'd suggest you give them a listen as well. In addition to these you can also check the band out in pure drunken madness, as they played the closing set on the LSL Fridge Full of 40's, party disk. LSL_020. So, like pokemon, collect them all, and keep your ears open for more of thier musical genius in the near future, as the band has already completed a batch of new songs for thier next album.

Battle of the Bands Finals: Radio Tavern
While bassist Tony Vulgara calls the bands schedule "rigorous," he seemed pleased with thier growing popularity. The succes comes from the bands "universal" sound.
"We all come from such experimental and punk rock roots," he said, "but the music that we're doing seems to have a mainstream rock appeal. Alot of projects we've done wouldn't have made it passed the underground circuit. I think that the sound (of La Vulgara) has a very universal appeal. I wouldn't use the term mainstream, but definitely universal."
"Laser punk" is the term Tony uses to describe the band's sound.
"It's basically danceable rock with a little bit of metal in it," he said. "There's definitely heavy '70's and '80's influences. We don't sound very '90's. Sometimes I hesitate to use the word punk because it has alot of conoctations to it, yet punk is definitely a part of us, we can't deny that."
