MEMORIES
I keep a place inside my heart
Where no one else may see
Full of memories of my life
Locked up inside of me
This place I speak of, confidant
No one may enter through that door
It is sacred, and so special
And each day I fill it more
Some bad, some good, some hurtful
But mostly, all are grand
This place I speak of, mine alone
Like many footprints in the sand
This place inside my heart is hidden
I take good care to hold it dear
As my life would not be meaningful
Without all these memories near
At times my heart feels burdened
As I'm sure, you understand
All memories can't be without some thorns
But Gods been there to take my hand
Memories are my stepping stone to freedom
They make me who I am supposed to be
And I know I'll take them with me
When Gods face I finally see
