The Wizard's Conclave

Set in a valley, protected from the passage of time, the Wizard's Conclave of Uruk, stands tall and proud. Walls and towers the color of purest ivory reach to the heavens, set with golden metals to catch the sun's rays and spread them like a caring hand all over the world. In these walls the art of magic is practiced and taught. Wizards from all over the lands and realms come to this place to learn and advance in the art. It is a land of peace, where all can live together, regardless of race, creed, or nationality.

Conclave City of Uruk

The Conclave is home to all schools of magic. Examples would be a WoN Wizard, Elemental, Druid, Additive/Subtractive, and Mages. The conclave is overseen by a Wizard's Council of a maximum of 13 members. Since a wizard progresses upon a unique road, multiple members of the same school on the council is not a concern. Magic isn't something that is static, it is fluid. The Conclave's duty is to guide the development of magic in the realms. By assisting realms in the use of their wizards and training wizards for any realm or person willing to learn. Though this Conclave is devoted the Light and works hard to push back the darkness.

Some Schools of Magic

Additive/Subtractive School of Magic

The Additive/Subtractive School of Magic is based on the idea of adding or subtracting of elements in the area. Such as the addition of heat particles in the air to create a fire ball. Or the opposite, subtracting heat particles to create an ice ball. A fundemental concept in this school of thought is the idea of balance. Opposing forces acting on each other to create a whole and well balanced wizard. In this school of magic, magic is like a gift given to a person at birth. The teacher observes the student to see what gift was granted at birth. If both sides, additive and subractive, where given in the gift, than the wizard has the potential to becoming the highest standard of magic user in any of the schools of magic.

Druid School of Magic

The Druid School of Magic is based on a well educated wizard, or Druid in this case. Druids are not only magic users, but also study science. They are well versed in the lore of the land and what is going on. Their magic is based on the memorization of magical practices. Characteristics of the Druid are the long dark robes and an imposing figure standing usually above seven feet tall. One of the last rites to becoming a Druid is entering into a union with your teacher where the physical appearence and all the knowledge of the teacher is transfered to the student. A common looking spell is the manipulation of a substance similar to blue flame. Druids are also well versed in the creation of magical talismans. Another spell they have mastered is the Druid Sleep, which can extend a person's life well past a thousand years.

Elemental School of Magic

The Elmental School of Magic focuses on the use of the four elements: earth, fire, wind, and water. The combination of these forces allows this wizard to be a powerful force in any environment. The wizard of this sort extends his or her magic out in order to manipulate and mold the elements around him or herself. This school of magic again takes into account the balance factor, but looks at it on the natural scale. The existence of one thing will always imply the existence of its opposite. As would be expected the Elemental Wizard has the utmost respect for the land and in time becomes a champion for the land where the wizard taks up residence.

WoN Wizard

WoN stands for the Web of Nature. The maintenence of the Web of Nature is the WoN Wizard's sacred duty. Like the Elemental Wizard, a WoN Wizard uses the forces of earth, air, water, and fire. Though the WoN Wizard extends to the boarder magic between the elements. The structure of the universe for a WoN Wizard is the Magic Box in the center. Moving outward in a circle is the Crossroads of the Realms; the Pool of Forever; the Cave of Names, the Learned Society, the realms of earth, fire, wind, and water; then finally the stars.

Mages

Mages are magic users that get their power from the gods. A Mage memorizes a spell, speaks it, and a god lends its power to the mage. The spell can only be used once before it has to be memorized again. Mages are broken into three types: white, red, and black. Each color has its own god. White represents the light, red is neutral, and black is darkness. Its a hard school to master, since it involves much memorization. Because of this fact, mages are often the weakest physically, but the strongest mentally.
