I absolutely loved the hit song "Teenage Dirtbag" so I bought the Cd. It starts out pretty good with an interesting song called "Truffles" which has interesting lyrics about a so called bada$$ eating truffles with their mom. While the lyrics are off the wall and I'd even venture to say totally stupid, the beat and the sound is totally unique and pretty good.
The next song, entitled "sunshine" is equally unique while the lyrics are also truly lacking, while some might consider them offensive,I guess thats what the parental advisory is to warn of.
The next song "Teenage Dirtbag", which most have heard of and is a personal favorite of mine, has an upbeat tempo(as do most of the songs) and probably is about one of the only songs with lyrics that make any sense what so ever. If you don't like this song, I definetly wouldn't bother with this Cd.
The next song "A Little Respect" jumps totally off course of the Cd and has lyrics that try to be meaningful but they come off sounding whiny and obnoxious, one of those songs you love to skip over when listening to.
"Hump' em n' Dump'em"....a great song if ever I've heard one. It's a great playful sounding song with a happy uptempo beat, lyrics that are just odd enough to be fun. They use their more feminine voices for some of the song to add a nice flare(as they did in "teenage dirbag").
The next song definetly has potential. Potential to amuse,annoy, and offend: your choice. The more interesting lyrics of this song are "Hes got the dirtiest shoes that I've ever seen; chew on a blunt wipe his butt with a magazine; smokin a blunt wash it down with gasoline......Leyroy is my mojo man...he's just a pimp with a limp and some vasoline....etc. The driving drumming beat in the back ground and the uneven vocals add so much to the already odd lyrics.
The next most heard of song "Love is a Mutt from Hell" is also rather good. You may have heard of it, if not you should. You can easily find it on Napster.com, or hear a small clip of it on www.Wheatus.com. The lyrics make sense, the beats good, and it follows the more typical format of todays music. A hit in the making I'm sure.
"Hey, Mr. Brown" is extremely repetitive and the guitar riffs are that from some other famous song I cant seem to out my finger on. But, if you can't be original, you might as well take it from someone who did well using it, and so they did.
"Punk Ass Bit*h" is a great moshing tune. The beggining starts off with a driving "make you wanna jump around" kind of beat and then the vocals start with a unique soft, driving sound and continue into the chorus where it breaks out into a louder version of the kicking sound. This song has four verses, probably the most of any song on this album and every one adds more and more to the song. Though offensive to some, it could easily be a favorite to many.
The last song "Wanna be gangster" slows it down some and has a nice soft beat and less harsh mind boggling lyrics as they ramble about, well who knows what. It has anintresting little wannabe rap section which adds nicely to the name of the song.
Overall, I'm not really sure of what i think of the Cd. The next Cd, if there is another one will probably be better as their lyrical ability needs much improving. But the background beats are great and provides for a great sound. The unique vocals(and lyrics) add for a refreshing new sound you won't here anywhere else. When I first heard it, it reminded me of the presidents of the united states. Not because of the actual sound as much as just the fresh different way of doing things.
