I close my tired eyes tightly
Wishing to open them in a new place
But the same surroundings come into focus
Same people, same life, same face
I float from one scene to the next
As though my life nothing more than a dream
Nothing is ever fully tangible
Everything surreal
I feel pain, but it can’t penetrate the bubble
Instead it soaks through slowly, ensuring I get my dose
Of tranquillity ruptured, bleeding , mind seething
It’s not like its supposed to be, not like I’d hoped
The bubble bursts, I’m thrust back into darkness
Light breaks through, awakening my sight
Bringing the world swiftly into sharp focus
Instantly I want to go back, where it felt right
Stuck out here in the world of reality
No shelter from pain, it comes thick and fast
The bubble offers me no comfort, no shade
I shrivel under the pressure, how long can it last?
