Me and Jo arrived in Birmingham at about 11, we followed Al’s instructions and found the Academy!! We had a look around and tried to c if we could c anyone.
Then I saw what I thought was the tour bus, it was huge and silver, I was so excited! It turned out to be the crew bus, and we got talking to the driver and the merchandise man, our claim 2 fame! We asked them about Wheatus and they said that they were a great bunch of lads and all that, any way, we needed the loo so headed off to Toys R u s2 find one, there wasn’t one so we went to Macdonald’s. Came back and waited around for about 2 hours till Flick and her friend Kelly arrived, we chatted 4 a while, then a couple more people came and so did Gemma! We all chatted for AGESSSSSSS and waited and waited.
At 3.30 we saw the bus come down, oh, how excited were we!!!! The first to come out were I think Brendan and Pete, Brendan looked and seemed really tired bless him, so we talked to Pete, and I came over all sheepish and I said to Pete, urm 'do u mind if i get a pic?' he was like 'nah, thats fine, sure!' Bless, he was soo nice to me and Jo and everyone, even though he was tired.
Pete then signed this mans back, a nice guys who we'd been standing with
BBB was whisked away and then me Jo, Flick and everyone went back to try and meet Mike and Phil, Phil really didn't seem in the mood, and went almost straight in, I breifly met Vanesa and she was sooo nice and friendly, she was like 'whats ur name? Melanie, aww thats nice' I couldn't help smiling!!
Then I got the courage to ask Mike 4 a pic, and he was just as nice as pete
We then saw who we thought were Relish and went over and asked them 4 the pic i'd promised my mate, they looked at us funny and just kinda refused! Charming!
Cue more waiting, me and jo decieded that if we wanted to sit down, then we'd have to get something to sit on,so we ran over to toys'r'us,and took some of the catalogues and sat on them! then me and gemma and jo decided to take a little trip down the back of the venue, we got down there and someone saw us, so as soon as we were round the corner, we ran as fast as possible laughing our heads off all the way!! We played eye spy with Janiac and just went mad through boredom, lol!
the security guards really seemed to be enjoying the whole power they had over us, me and gemma and jo were begin them to let us in as we could hear the souncheck going on,after loads of beging and the cue form Rob, we were in!!
We practically ran all the way and made a line behind the barriers and i watched in awe!! I couldn't believe I was standing in the same room as Wheatus, watching them perform!!!!! Jo and Gemma just laughed at me coz I was still in shock from having me pic with pete and mike. The souncheck was really good, I moved around to get pics of different people, i went over to mike, and took a pic, he looked to c who'd tken it and must have recognised me from outside as he gave me a really nice smile! but my camera wasnt quick enough 4 me 2 catch it
anyways, the souncheck was too soon over, and phil left straight away, so did pete, mike stayed and talked to some of the fans at the other side. Jo called BBB over and he came! she gave him our pressies and asked him 2 sign something, which he did. I took loads of pics of the souncheck!! I made an idiot of myself infront of BBB thogh, i kinda said hi, he said hi, then i said, thats all i wanted to say, just hi, lol, he looked at me and just went, oh, hi!
Next, more waiting, and when we were eventually allowed in, we had our bags searched an jo had her drink taken off her! we ran downstairs, and gemma (thanks hun!!) had saved us places right in front of where BBB would be! so we took our place, we had to then wait another hour b4 relish even came on. They were ok, but to me, everything sounded the same. Then WHEATUS!!!!!!!!
How did they rock!!!!!!!!! It was amazing!!!!They were sooo good, i really enjoyed it, i was a bit squashed at the front, but it was worth it!!! After one of the songs, Brendan decided he needed a wee, he said 'i need a wee,it's no gimmick, i really do, i think it's something to do with the kilt' (or words to that effect)
While he was away, Phil decided to introduce us all to the backing singers and such. Soon after Brendan returned, people started throwing their empty water bottles on stage, not only that, but sock, and a nike hat and some cuppa soups, he said' u know, wheatus fans throw the weirdest s*** on stage!!!', cue Jo throwing an orange, but she missed and nearly hit Liz, who looked less than impressed.
neways, there were some people taking the whole thing too seriously, and tried to dive over the barriers, the security had a big job trying to keep everyone calm. Some people passed out coz of the heat and lack of air, and some we met earlier had to be tsaken out and had broken his ribs!! We were glad that we weren't in the middle front, we had a great spot!!
I can't tell u how great it was, but also, how weird it was to actually meet them, and talk to them, i know their normal people and all that, but it's still weird
anyway, the gig came to an end way too quickly, we went over to the merchandise area, and bought the comic, a hoodie 4me bro and a nice top 4 me,u know the long sleeved ones, i like it anyways. we went outside ot wait 4 them, gemma had to go home and missed them
after about 15 mins, Al came over (ah, so cool) she went 'r u mel?' I was like yeah, and then she introduced herself and she told me where Vanesa was, I went over, and asked her 4 a pic, she was very happy 2 do it!
All I wanted now was to get a pic with BBB and Phil and I'd be happy, I even told Vanesa that,lol, phil went onto the bus, and noone saw him at all, but BBB came out,he said he'd be out in a sec, but we thought we'd be having to go, so jo begged and went, brendan, please my parents might be coming soon, he looked at me and i said 'pleeease' and he said, ok quikly, he leaned in a the pic was taken, all very quick, but hey, at least i managed to get it, thanks jo, so i'd got what i'd wanted, used 2 and a bit 36 exp films and am very happy!!!!!!!!!I took a few more minutes taking pics of them.
THANKS WHEATUS FOR THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!!! We may have waited hours and hours 4 u, but it was worth it!!!It was the best day, I hope I get to go to the next tour!!!!!!!
