Hey Guys, it's yer ol pal Warpangel with part 2 of the Wheatus adventure....

Ok, starting where I finished off. Jude and I arrived at Manchester airport from Dublin on the 10th July. We met up with Sonja (Sonny 19) who had flown in from Germany to meet us. We caught a taxi to go pick up my car, said our goodbyes to Jude, and headed on our quest to find Nottingham. The drive was uneventful, a little slow in places as the roads were small and busy. But we arrived in Nottingham shortly before 4pm, so we knew we would catch the soundcheck.

When we got to the venue we hooked up with some of the other frogs. I met Luke (And wheres your report buddy???), his pals James and Corey, as well as catching up with the other Wheatus followers Zostar,Flick and Gemma. We found out that the guys had been delayed while they were crossing over from Ireland on the Ferry. Their trailer had gotten stuck and it caused all kinds of problems which delayed the boat sailing. Causing the guys to be late.

It was almost 6.30pm before the guys turned up. There was a lot of frenzied activity to get the gear into the venue so the guys could soundcheck before the doors opened. However, things went well, and they got everything sorted in time. However it did mean that Dirty Harry didnt have time to soundcheck, and they had to take pot luck when they got on stage. But it all worked out.

The guys came on stage and the place went nuts! Tonight I think was one of the greatest performances put on by the band during the UK run of shows. They really were on fire all through the show. All the guys were playing at their best and Phil transcended his usual wackiness to another level. Phil decided to bring his toiletries on stage with him. During the first quarter of the show we could see him brushing his teeth between songs. and as the show progressed he got out his shaving cream and slapped it all over his face and head. He then brought out his razor and began shaving all over. It looked mad, and was hillarious to watch. The music carried on around him. He performed Pretty Girl covered in shaving cream and it just went everywhere. He squirted loads more over the smaller drums he has next to his bongo's and began beating the skins causing the cream to fly all over. The guy is amazing!

The crowd was really rough though in Nottingham, and for most of the show I was ducking out of the way of crowdsurfers and getting pinned as the security guards tried to get them over the barriers. Brendan, made a comment about the slam dancers, as he could see we were all struggling at the front. It was the only time on the so far on the UK gigs that he had to ask the crowd to calm down.

so the encores came again. And Brendan took pity on all of us at the front who were getting crushed. He got Sonja, Me, Gemma, Flick and a host of others onto the stage to get our groove on for the rest of Dirtbag and Truffles. It was a relief to be out of the crowd.

After the show it was nice to see that the guys expressed concern for our wellbeing. BBB, Phil and Vanesa had all noticed that we were getting 'pretty beat up' (in their words) in the crowd and wanted to know if we were ok. We were, although we knew we were going to have some nice bruises to show afterwards (and I did!! lol!).

An hour or so after the gig had finished, Phil, Mike, Pete and Vanesa ventured into the club that is part of the Rock City venue. And Sonja, Vanesa and I got our groove on on the dance floor. Which was a lot of fun. We stayed for a couple of drinks then it was time to head back to get some sleep before the next days adventures.

On returning to the car I had a complete traumatic experience. For starters, I lost the car!! We must have entered the car park on a different level then we had left and I was disorientated with where I'd parked. So for around 5 mins I thought the car had been stolen. On my eventual finding the car (parked exactly where I left it!! durrr....) I realised that my car SHOULD have been stolen as I'd left a window wound down. Luckily nothing was missing and I just felt like an idiot!

So we drove back home, having had a fun and eventful night. The next day..we were off to Warrington!!

To be continued......
