5am i got up and made my way to the coach station to catch the 6.45am train, arriving in London at 11.40am and meeting up with Jop and Emu, after catching 2 trains, being asked if we were in a pantomime when Jop asked directions to the venue, and walking for a while we finally got to the venue to find the tour buses already there but no sign of the band. We waited round for a while and then met up with Flick a bit later Phil came back from town, we spoke to Phil just to say *hey* and *cool hair* then he found that he was locked out of the buses so he walked round for a while looking puzzeled and banging on doors until he found one of the venue doors was open, we all clapped and cheered as he went inside. We went off to macdonalds for a while and came back to find Katie and after a while we also met up with Astrid
We wondered round the venue and met Kathryn, she spoke to us for a while and then had to go to Body Shop to exchange something as Brendan had been in earlier and bought a tester which was half empty! So we went with Kathryn and the bodyshop people all looked kinda confused when we all started laughing and making fun of bbb when Kathryn went to the counter and said "My boyfriend bought this...hes not good at shopping!"
So then it was back to the venue to collect our soundcheck passes and wait around for a bit... Eventually soundcheck started and it rocked-like our own mini wheatus gig, they played the new version of Wannabe Gangstar which rocked...also i heard Lemonade for the first time, which rocks but *how ruuude!* and Freak On rocks live too...The guys have had new earpieces made and they can hear anything while theyre onstage, but during soundcheck bbb signed to me that he liked my hair (which i dyed pink) by pointing at me, pointing at his hair and putting his thumb up :o) Jop threw Katies inflateable frog at mike and it stayed on the stage during the gig, sitting next to petes drums...after over an hour of soundcheck we were kicked out in the cold where a queue had started to form. at 7.30pm we were let into the gig and made to watch Relish who were pants, but then eventually at about 9.15pm Wheatus came on, i wont give too much away about the gig incase some of you havent seen them yet, but this is probably one of the best wheatus gigs ive been to set-list wise...they have new into music and a new backdrop which is unveiled as the guys walk onto the stage, Kathryn and Liz are great as backing singers and even wear matching outfits!the played all the usual album stuff, minus gangstar, and also some new/old stuff such as Freak On, Drummer Boy/Fairweather Friend and Lemonade...After the gig we all ran round to the buses and waited there for a few hours for the guys to come out, first was Kathryn who spoke to us for a while and then went in to fetch the others, then came mike, pete and eventually bbb appeared wearing my fave hoodie (the grey one from the leroy vid) with the hood up and his funky rocking new glasses!
BBB stayed and signed some stuff, i got a hug n he was all snuggley and soft and warm and while he was hugging me he told me that he loved my hair again so now ive decided to dye it pink for all the gigs :o) then i had my pic taken with him and he signed sum stuff for my Elise (bbbsnoel)which when i told her, made her scream her head off and basically go mental! then we had to go coz it was cold and Katies parents were picking us up to take me jop n emu back to jops house...and in the morning another 6 hour journey home for me which wasnt helped by the fact that i ended up walking round victoria train station in circles coz the signs send u all different ways...i cant wait till Birmingham!
